drips color
onto mine

bright blues
brilliant shades
of indigo

magenta
and orange

you push me down
into the depths
of red

i sink into
yellow

as your lips
your teeth
pierce my flesh

releasing violet

You were telling me a story.
"These long lines," you said,
and laughed.
"They trip me up."

Your feet
criss crossed in front of your body,
leading you
between the asphalt
and the manicured lawns.

I walked beside you,
beneath you.
The hot tar baking the soles
of my beat up chuck taylors.

Your fingers flashed out in front of me
when you started to totter again.

I looked up at you
the sun shinging through your hair
burning around your body,
and knew
that it didn't get any better than this.
