So, I was wondering the other day about the criterion to choose a set of the day here at SG. It seems that finally it depends on the number of comments and positive votes, which as I said is democratic and not completely unfair, though not completely fair either since it depends on how much a set can be promoted to get more comments and votes.

While in real life democracy is the least evil system we have, the thing is that I find it sad that here the girls are "forced" to promote their sets and "beg" for votes, like politicians do. Really, the sets are more often than not fantastic, because the girls are fantastic, and I see this as a great present they give to us (the members). To see that in order to get recognition they have to mine the site looking for "friends" to vote for them, welcoming new members just to get a new "vote", etc... is not something I think they deserve.

What's the solution? I don't know. I understand that if a person or a small group of persons choose the sets that will go to the front page some people will say it's unfair, it just depends on their own taste, etc... And those girls whose sets don't get chosen are going to feel frustrated. Now at least it depends on them and the members. But it just makes me uncomfortable to see the situation described above.

Maybe we members should promote the sets we like the best. But then again, it will depend on how popular each member is. For example, I tried myself, but I just knew it was a useless attempt.

So I just have one thing to say: THANKS to the ladies for their sets. Chosen or not, they do make all our days a bit happier
