Here's one of life's undeniable truths: If you order something from a company, you're pretty much on their mailing list for the rest of your natural life. Even when they send you the catalogs that have splashed all across the front cover. Warning!....this may be your last catalog, unless you order something right away!. Yeah right! If you look closely enough at the fine print, it says that this will be your last issue if you don't order something from them between now and September 15, 2025.

One of my pet peeves about guys is ear and nose hair. Needless to say that since I have such an aversion to both of them, that I'm a little fastidious and obsessive about keeping mine trimmed, plucked, etc. I guess it comes from my upbringing and location. When I was a kid, I can vividly remember seeing all the old old farmers who would come to town once a week. Invariabley, they would have a mass of hair growing out of their ear canals and around their ears. Not to mention the intertwined birds nest growing down and out of their nose, that would produce a whistle of varying pitch every time they exhaled. These old guys worked everyday out on the farm with only the cows and their wives to look at them, so I guess nose and ear hair wasn't a big priority with them. Still, you'd think their wives would have tackled them and took a pair of scissors or shears or something to them after a while. So, I think it was instilled in me during my impressionable youth, to never let that old man be me.....resulting in my daily obsessive ritual that I go through on my nose and ears today. Once in awhile, while tweezing, I'll get ahold of a long one, that's grown from deep inside the nose. Oddly enough, they always come out pure white. I guess they are kind of like those fish and salamanders that have been found in the lakes at the bottom of deep caves that get no sunlight.....they are white and have no pigment from the lack of light. Those suckers always bring a tear to my eye when I yank em.

Music has always been a big part of my life. I love to sing and did all the vocal music stuff while in high school. It runs in my family. When I was a youngin', my 2 older brothers, a cousin and a couple of other guys had their own rock & roll band. This would've been from about 63' thru 68'. They were very good and played around the midwest. They put out a 45 record of a couple of songs that one of my brothers had written. It got some play on local radio stations and they sold them at their gigs. 2 months ago, one of the guys that played in the band with them was surfing the web and found something about "garage bands of the 60s". He clicked on the link and after looking around a little, was astounded to find that their group and record was listed as #28 of the 100 all time best 60's garage bands. Turns out, collectors of this kind of thing were looking for information on the band and their record was demanding a high price among collectors. A used 45 of their record sold on Ebay for $750 a couple of months ago and one collector contacted them and offered $1000 for a new, unused record. 37 years after the band quit playing, they are getting a little recognition and are enjoying some brief notarity....they deserve it!

This has been kind of random stuff today.....hope the nose and ear hair thing didn't amount to TMI....
