It's cold this morning, but we have bright, brilliant sunshine!.....and that can make all the difference in the world to me.
You know it's cold out, when you take a deep breath and the insides of your nose freeze together. Needless to say, I'm not going out to the mailbox to get the paper in my barefeet anymore. I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I'm sharp enough to cut a wet noodle.....and to not go barefoot when the temp is well below zero......
Tonight, I plan to have a fire going in the fireplace. I have gifts to wrap and I think it might must bring me a little more into the holiday spirit, to have a nice warm fire going while wrapping gifts on the living room floor. I'm not quite sure why the Christmas spirit has eluded me so much this year....I'm normally a pretty jolly guy this time of year. I just can't seem to get into it for some reason. I guess it happens......so I"m not going to worry about it......I don't have a Scrooge mentallity or anything, I'm just not terribly excited about the whole thing for some unknown reason.
I am however, looking forward to the new year and making some subtle changes in myself. Not the new year's resolution kind of changes.....just some personal things that I know I need to work on.....to make some improvements. I've grown a little complacent about a few things and that needs to change. I guess after Chrsitmas and the New Year is a good time to take a look and start a new regiment.
Anyway, today is Thrusday, December 23rd 2004.....try to make the most of it, cause once it's gone, it'll never come around again!
