Going to Omaha today to visit a friend. I'll probably try to do some Christmas shopping while I'm there. I might decide to stay overnight, depending on how late we stay out.
The weather is clear this morning....bright sunshine and a high of 50 today....great weather for Dec. 4th. It wouldn't bother me one bit if it stayed just like this all winter, where all you need to wear is a long sleeve shirt and a jacket or sweatshirt. I'm sure that colder, snowier conditions are just around the corner, but one can always dream!
I sometimes have a hard time not buying things for myself when I Christmas shop for others. I know it sounds crazy, but I rarely go shopping for something for me. So, when I am actually out shopping ( even though the reason for being there is to buy presents for others ) I sometimes get the urge to buy stuff I need for myself. I can remember one year when I came home after a Christmas shopping trip, with one purchase as a gift and about 5 things for myself. I guess it's something I have to work on. I'm not a great shopper I guess, but I do always manage to get nice gifts for the people I love, so all in all everything turns out OK.

Yes, this time of year is all about things (memories) coming to the surface and processing and really living.
I am not sad, just getting stonger, changing alot, and learning to let go.
