The drist ( a combination of drizzle and mist ), fog and overcast sky continues, although the wind has switched more from the south and it has warmed up about 10 degrees to nearly 60.....which feels quite balmy after several days of high 40's to 50. My mood is staunchly imbedded somewhere between chipper and sullen.

While working on a few things outside in the crappy weather yesterday, I noticed one of the black squirrels that have myteriously shown up in my trees this year.....he was vigourously working over one of the ears of corn that I had put out for them. I've always had the regular red squirrels here, but these black squirrels are something new and a bit of a mystery as to where they came from. I was able to get back into the house and grab my 35mm camera and snap a couple of pics before he/she scurried away....I was quite a few feet away and the light was not very good, so I'm not sure how they will turn out. The next time I see it, I'm going to try to get some pics with my digital.
The trap I had set outside the house to try to catch the badger, who had temporarily taken up residence beneath my house, was still set and still setting along side the spot where the badger was getting in. ( That spot has been fixed and closed up for winter by the way ) As I walked by the trap yesterday morning, I bumped the trap with my foot and received a hiss in response. A possum had found his way inside the trap at some point the night before and had tripped the door behind him. He was not very pleased to be stuck in the wire cell and let me know about it vigorously.
Today will be an "inside" day for me..... I have some paperwork to catch up on and I think I'll get some laundry done while I'm sitting here at the computer....multitasking at it's best!
