I was somewhat busy over the weekend....a few things out of the ordinary came up, but nothing that was too troubling or took much to remedy. I was able to take time to make a few entires to other members journals, but didn't have enough time at one sitting to update my own journal. It usually takes me a few minutes for me to write my journal entry, as I never have anything prepared beforehand and just sit down and write whatever happens to come at that moment. So, I usually sit here and write and then rewrite until I get it the way I want it. Many thanks to Shayne for being the only one to comment to my journal, despite it being up for nearly 3 days without updating. I'm beginning to wonder if my presence here is worthwhile.
I had a real hankerin' for ribs a couple of days ago, so I fixed country style pork ribs for Sunday dinner. They put such an appetizing aroma in the house while they were cooking, that it was hard to wait for them to be done. I have an idea to try them out on the grill next time....something I've never tried. A good friend of mine that does them that way all the time has told me his secret for grilling ribs and I may have to give it a go as early as next week.
I managed to get my firewood brought up to the house for easy access when the time comes for a nice roaring fire some cold, windy, rainy fall night. I'm lucky enough to have a covered porch just a few steps away from the fireplace that keeps the wood dry and easy to get in the house. I've been thinking about and working at getting a few of those "fall" type things done the last few days, as one can never tell how long the nice days will last. We had a killing frost last Friday night, but I had the plants and flowers that I wanted to save covered. They are forecasting another hard frost tonight, so I'll be out putting blankets over those tender green stems again tonight, before retiring to my bed. We usually get a few nights like this in early October, before a warming trend comes along and gives us a break ahead of the really cold weather that is bound to come eventually. I still have plenty of outside work that I need to get done before the snow begins to fly. I know it still seems early, but I can remember years when we had our first heavy snow around the end of October and it's good to have things done and be prepared for it by then.
I spent about an hour last night, looking for my Yamaha electronic keyboard that I bought several years ago. For some unexplained reason, I had the urge to get it out and play some music ....I've always been one to get sudden urges to do something that I haven't done for awhile. Anyway, I must've looked everywhere in the house for the darned thing for about an hour, before remembering that I'd given it to my great niece a couple of years ago. Once I remembered that I didn't have it any more, the sudden urge to play it instantly vanished. I'm anxiously awaiting to see what my next weird urge will be.....I usually surprise even myself!
Hope your Monday was good and that Tuesday's looking like a winner!

thanks for the positive feedback in my journal. yes, i am moving to lawrence, so i am not really nervous. i visited recently and found it MUCH to my liking. reading your journal and your profile, i must say you sound quite... sensuous! or sensual!
that's so not a come on. i have a boyfriend, and i'm not looking, but i just have to say that you're all about touch, taste, smell... you know. the five. maybe that's stating the obvious, but yeah.
hope your evening goes well.
