August is back with a vengence! Heat, humidity and thunderstorms are forecast for this week. We've had nice late May, early June weather for the last several days. It was really nice to be outside. Ah well, we knew it couldn't last.....
I have to take some time this morning to write checks and pay some bills. I hate sending my money away, but it's one of those unpleasant facts of life.
I have some landscaping to do this afternoon....to bad the cool weather didn't hold out for just a couple more days.
On the bright side, I was able to take some time for a ride on my scoot yesterday. The sun was bright, the temp was perfect and I stopped to see a couple of friends along the way, so Sunday afternoon was a good experience.
I put some chicken in a marinade for an all day soak, in preparation for grilling tonight. I think some potato salad and baked beans might be in order as well....if the humidity doesn't make everything soaking wet today, I'll probably sit out on the screened in porch for my semi-picinic type dinner tonight. Evenings are my favorite time to sit outside and watch and listen to my surroundings. Locusts, lighting bugs, birds flocking to the feeders, sun fading, night creatures beginning to stir.....very serene after the trials and tribulations of the day.
Life is not so much about where you end up....it's about the road you take to get there!

Your dinner sounds so yummy! I wish I had had that for dinner instead of drive-through McDonald's. And your description of your porch/picnic scene sounds wonderful and comfy.
