So....my 4 hours in the dentist chair this morning went really well....better than I could have ever expected it to. My dentist is just the best! He removed my porclein crown with a neat little gizmo that didn't break it, so it could be put back on. He did the root canal and put the crown back in place, as perfect as it was before. Then he sliced my gum open and dug out the wisdom tooth that was buried up in there and had been pushing on the root of the other tooth and caused the problem to start with. Several stitches later, I was all put back together and just like I was before, only minus a tooth that wasn't doing me any good and was causing problems.

I gotta tell ya....I love that nitrous laughing gas....that stuff is the shit! There were times when I couldn't tell that I had any of my body, except my head. It was funny to lay there and wonder where my legs and arms were...hehehehe!

I've been laying around taking it easy and watching DVD's this afternoon. He told me to take the rest of the day off and I thought that sounded like a perfect idea! The novicane has worn off now, but other than a slight soreness from the stitches, I haven't had any pain or throbbing at all. I held an ice pack on my cheek all afternoon to help keep any swelling down and I've taken a couple of Advil. He gave me Percodan for the pain, but I won't take any unless I need them.

My stomach is rumbling, since I didn't eat lunch, but I'm sure I won't have any problems eating dinner tonight. Probably not a steak yet, but some scrambled eggs and sausage are sounding pretty good to me right now.

Tomorrow I head to Des Moines to pick up a few things, get a haircut and then meet friends for the evening. Not sure what's on tap for the evening, but I can always count on my friends to have something wild lined up!
