Back when I was a high school junior, I had a friend "D" who had spent some time working on the rings. He was somewhat proud of his abs. He asked me to hit him in the stomach as hard I could, and I did, and he seemed none the worse for wear. So then a few days later, we were in line at the cafeteria, standing next to this somewhat bigger friend "E" of ours, and I told E about D's abs o' steel. I said, hey, why don't you try hitting him. So after a few meaningful glances were exchanged, E gave D a good hard shot in the midsection. D was still standing, quietly, and we went back to waiting.
