So, I recently started doing some volunteer work for the Michigan Rock 'n' Brew Festival (Running August 4th and 5th in Lansing Michigan) and i must say its really awesome. For those of you who dont know what I'm talking about ill give you a brief over view and a link where you can go to check things out.
So basically a couple guys got together last year and said "we need to do a show like Common Ground (also in Lansing Michigan) where we have local bands, local food vendors and local BEER!" so they started working on it, a few snags and hiccups we wont get into caused them to not have the show last year. THIS year however is full speed ahead. We are gonna have over 30 bands on 2 (possibly 3) stages Including Toadies and Helmet as the headliners. the local scene is a force not to be messed with with food vendors like Arties Filling Station, Meat (a new restaurant for the carnivores out there) Trailer Parked and many more. Local Brewery's include Bells, New Holland, Founders, Arbor and a few others TBA. check it out on the main web page (listed below) or on that other site where you can stalk your friends and their friends friends.... you know the one.

ok now that im down with that shameless plug back to the reason for my first blog. as i said i started doing this as a volunteer and immediately i thought "why cant all business be conducted like this". we have these three guys who tell us whats going on, each one of them handles a different roll and then we are all (the volunteers) allowed to put in our own two cents on it and every one listens, and has fun, and there's food and beer provided. if i could get paid to do that for the rest of my life i would never work another day. Its so layed back but direct and to the point how these guys run things. im going to try to maybe discuss with the volunteer coordinator about heading up the serving schedule for the vip tents...ive got a lot serving skills and i think i could contribute a really solid task force of fun, energetic, good looking servers (both guys and girls). that way im not only doing something for this event but im helping out fellow friends by putting a few extra dollars in their pockets. all in all im so geeked about just being a part of this committee of volunteers i dont care what im doing as long as these are the people im doing it with.
i dont know how public this blog is so i guess if anyone happens to read it let me know, i dont care if i know your or not... cuz if im sitting here ranting about having such an amazing time but im only telling it to myself, then whats the point ya know? lol. thanks for reading and hope to see you on August 4th and 5th.
