i do not understand the life-view of nobody having self-responsibility and/or control over life choices.
i'm sorry, but you are responsible for every choice you make, whether it's a bad one or a good one.
it does not in any way change the fact just because the choice turned out to be a bad one, embarassing one, dangerous one, poorly-timed one, you name it.
if you choose to drop out of school because you don't like your teachers giving you homework, that's being short-sighted and impatient, not controlled or misunderstood.
if you got drunk, fucked a girl/guy willingly, and are embarassed the next morning, that's drunk & stupid, not rape.
if you take a job with which your personal beliefs run contrary to, being miserable is a result of poor pre-thought or coping, not the fault of the supervisor that expects you to fill the job you applied for.
if you move to a country where people speak another language, it is your fault for being there or not learning it, not them being rude for not understanding your speech.
and so on.
it was annoying listening to this sort of thing as a pre-teen & teen when in school and surrounded by others my age, it's extra annoying hearing it from "adults" constantly.
hello, i'm Rumpus, i've made bad decisions in my life. i've done both good and bad things. i've done stuff that years later still makes me blush or that i'm still working day-to-day to live with the results of.
but you know what? each of those choices, successes, disappointments, laughs and fuckups were mine. each action has been a choice.
i am responsible for me and my actions.
to deny this would be to deny large portions of who i am. i have no wish to avoid who i am, in any amount.

edited because Rumpus is also responsible for messy typing, spelling and grammar... and has chosen to only correct a couple extra annoying goofs lol!
