so, got the first half of my initial assessment done yesterday night & will be getting the final bits done and she'll give me my workout plan around monday.
overall it was good. like i said before, i'm very pleased that she keeps showing herself to be truly knowledgeable. she's also been a veggie for 8yrs (came up when we were talking about my eating habits) so that's a help that i have someone who is veggie working with me on the weight loss & body shaping w/more than theory, but rather their own experience if i have questions.
i answered questions, got taped, weighed, & walked around the gym so that she could show me which weigh machines would be in my first month's workouts & find out which weight was a good starting one.
went well, went well.
only thing that makes me uncomfortable is one of those things i'm sure she wasn't trying to bother me with, an area that i know i'm touchy on so it's not really her fault. she's mega-busy, doing a lot of things all the time. i, being broken, have no job currently though i have put in for a local job (am waiting to see if i get a call back). my schedule is wide open because the things i do are completely flexible (i study online, work on my drawing & painting, etc). after it became clear that i was a "house wife" (i'm not, but that's the easiest answer since she asked me if i work & i said no.. so she asked if i was a "house wife".. i figured that it was easier to say "yes" than to explain fully) & that i could work my schedule around when she was free, she made a couple of bit-of-a-laugh-while-talking jokes/comments about how i was free/it was up to her schedule.
i'm sure it wasn't meant unpleasant, i'm probably just being oversensitive due to not being a "housewife" & not having a job/busy schedule due to disabilities. if it occurs again though i'll let her know nicely that it is a touchy subject for me & let her know -vaguely, i'm not very comfortable sharing details- that it's due to disability. i'd rather just bring it out & try to be clear than to feel like this about it when it's most likely just a misunderstanding.
jobs & a career are such touchy subjects for me... i'm not going to get deep into it again, as it always drags me way down & i'm trying to keep having a good day... but it stings every day that i can't be busy like i enjoy, have a career & be doing a lot of things with my time. i had so many goals & hopes at one time, now..... well, i'm just proud that i get through most days. especially lately with no meds, i've been very pleased that i've been doing so very well.
ANYHOW, met up with her, talked stuff over, got some basics done, gonna get the rest done probably monday & i'm on my way. went pretty good.
