So after many, many years of procrastination I have finally decide to learn how to ride a motorbike. I have always loved motorbikes and am a big fan of the Moto GP. I've never tried to learn in the past for a number of reasons but main ones are. One, that when I used to cycle to work the amount of people who tried to kill me, including the police once, was shocking. And two, my Mum. She has always said she would kill me! You see my Dad always had motorbikes when he was young and charming her but proceeded to have a number of scary/lucky accidents. Some he own doing, others not. Once they were married and had me a my Brothers it was decided it was to dangerous. BUT I still remember sitting on the tank of his bike as a toddler holding on to the handle bars while he did a wheelie across the garden. I was delighted but my Mum gave him a look not to do that again. It's a look you don't defy. Lol. Not long after that the bikes were gone.
So here I am, a man(?), of 36 years learning to ride for the first time. The only motor bike i've every ridden before now was a 50cc rev and go scooter around a collage car park back in 96.
My CBT (Compulsory Bike Training) course is booked for November 18th. After that, assuming I like it, it will be Direct Access Course with lessons on a 600cc. Hopefully if everything goes well I should have my licence by Spring next year.
Wish me luck!
