Sunday at DEMF was probably even better than Saturday, which really kicks me in the ass for not going the last few years when I heard about it. My lights worked out well, and as always they proved to be the pain in the butt they always are. I was really happy that I found a good level for the lighting from what I ran down in Chicago at the beginning of the month. The best part of the entire event was dancing during John Aquaviva's set. When we first showed up Matt pointed out one of the guys dancing, and told me he was my competition for the event. This guy was amazing, his moves were crisp and to the beat. They shafted Aquaviva and had him on a stage way to small, so instead of getting on the dance floor I danced outside the tent where it was much darker and more conducive to my lighting.... let alone easier to keep my dance space. I was way too tranced out to notice, but on the way home Matt reluctantly told me who he saw watching me. I guess partway through the set the guy I had been told was my rival had walked out off the dance floor and spent 20+ minutes just watching me dance. That story made all the photos, complements and everything else fade. I held the attention of a truly great dancer and that was all that mattered. I was happy. People were too tired so we skipped on the rave at City that night, which really didnt burn me, since I knew I wasn't going to dance like I had already that night.
Yay for techno!
