Children are getting more street savvy earlier these days. They're learning more about the world, and learning it more quickly than any generation that's come before them. They're making 'adult' decisions and 'adult' mistakes at increasingly younger ages. They're aggressively shaking off the idea of 'childhood' and all it's implied inferiority.

And yet the system of social checks and balances that bind an adult, don't...

Kid's don't have enough time to be kids anymore.
I've watched my younger brother growing up more quickly then I had.

I went and saw Spiderman 3 last night.
Don't read the rest of this post unless you want it spoilt.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Hmmm... not hugely impressed:

- The meteorite landing was a little convenient.
- The Spidey-New Goblin chase/fight scene reminded me of the Quidditch scenes in Harry Potter.
- The New Goblin costume looks like Sharkboy!
- The shot of Spidey reaching...

Nothing new is heralded as the next great revolution any more. The days of the haranguing hawker, the street-corner caller and the town-crier are all lost. Change, today, approaches quietly and stealthily, while your attention is elsewhere, insinuating itself so gently into your consciousness, that you're barely aware that any change has occurred.

Then one day, you have a moment when you seem to see...

Go on over and meet Artemis, my Daemon.
Do me a favour and answer the questions about me there and we'll see if she's the right one for me.

(I was sort of hoping for a crow or rook, but maybe that's too much to ask...)

Yeah, arrhythmic and/or discordant is kinda my thing.
Everyone who got mine got two CDs... I just couldn't restrain myself blush

That Charming Hostess album ("Punch") is one of my favorite albums ever. It has Carla Kihstedt on it, who is also in Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. It also has Nihls Frykdal and Dan Rathbun, both of whom are also in Sleepytime and Idiot Flesh. Nihls is also in Faun Fables. I creamed myself when I discovered Sleepytime... I've discovered so much other cool music through them.

Dance of Eternity is the only Dream Theatre song I like, cos I don't know any others without vocals, and the singer makes me mad blackeyed puke bok
Fucking cool song, though, huh. The guy who played it to me reckons it sounds like end-of-level-boss music. Then he claimed to have actually heard it on Dragon Ball Z at the end of the episode.

That Gabby La La track is pretty representative of what the album sounds like. It's the only album of her's that I know of. It was produced by Les Claypool from Primus, and I think he played most of the instruments.

So glad you're digging it biggrin

P.S. Lex, stop, you're killing us.

I just want it known that I love Post Secret.
The entries take me through the full range of human emotion.
I'm addicted.

If you don't know of Post Secret yet, spend some time there and rediscover what it is to be human.

It's remarkable but needs to be taken with many grains of salt. Its popularity means that a lot of the secrets that are sent may not be true -- people just want to sensationalise a bit and see if they can send one in that's posted on the site (because not all are posted due to the volume they receive, if i recall correctly).

Yep. That's me. Bringing everything back to boring ol' reality.

Hehehe.

Thanks for the nice message.

I work as a debt collector for the US Department of Education here, and we have an IRS and Department of the Treasury contract too, so I have to pay or I'll lose my job. In my occupation, though, I've seen (or heard) people totally break down, because they have let their bills get so out of hand. The three thousand that I owe is little in comparison to some, but stil a lot for me.

Hope your weekend was fabulous, m'dear! xx

Duuude. I spy Tasty Jacks in that photo. They are the bomb.

Yeah, the Woolies uniform could be worse. The old one kinda looked like a school uniform.

I wanna start a league version of this; it sounds like a interesting party game!

An adaptation of Rock, Paper, Scissors for more than two players is Ready, Aim, Fire.
A game of Ready, Aim, Fire consists of a series of rounds. In each round, each player chooses to aim their gun (by pointing a finger) at the sky, any opponent, or himself. The following...

I don't get it confused it's all far to complicated

for example instance if only two people are playing and they both shoot each other do they both die? and if so then it's a silly game, if for no other reason than I say so and if I remember rightly I am king.....
