Long time readers of my journal will be aware of my constant delight in the nature of the Universe in providing exactly what is needed at exactly the right time.

It happened again tonight; all the doubts and pains that have been clawing around in my heart and mind over the last few months were put into a much clearer perspective by Tim Freedman's unique...

I quoted this journal entry to someone the other night. I'm not sure I got my (or more accurately, your) point across, but I tried.

I love this entry. It makes me feel a little better about blindly following my instincts, despite knowing I'm about to have my heart and head very, very hurt.
But, the happiness before the heart-crushing-badness is so damn sweet.

I had a major virus/intrusion scare last night!
I left my laptop torrenting during the day while I was at work yesterday. I came home and, as is my custom, sat down at my machine to check SG, emails, Facebook etc. When I opened Firefox, a tiny dialogue box opened flashed a progress bar, and then, less than a second later, disappeared. If I hadn't...

Lol! I just realised how entirely screwed I would be if I got a virus on my computer. No, like really, really screwed.

Melbourne Orchestra - I'm so jealous right now. You're right, it is going to be phenomenal! Enjoy!

We'll catch up soon, yeah? 'Cause that would be nice...
*nods head in reaffirmation of this statement*

This may sound naff, but would five potential dates in five consecutive nights with five different girls be considered a Straight?
And would it be a winning hand?

There's an empty cigarette packet on my bedroom floor. Menthols.
There's bobby-pins scattered across my desk.
There's an extra toothbrush in the bathroom.
A lot can change in a week, if you let it.

It's been an eventful weekend.

I was writing a blow-by-blow account of the happenings but decided to abbreviate it when two hundred words had only taken me as far as Friday afternoon.

So here, in easy-to-read point form, is my weekend:

* Ended night shifts at precisely Midnight Thursday night. Finished last assignment approximately 2am Friday morning. Submitted assignment 8:30am Friday. Started first day shift...

And Uni's over for the year! Fuck yeah!
Time to rejoin the human race, get reacquainted with my roommates and spend the evenings eating good meals and watching bad TV.
Cannot. Fucking. Wait.

I think I'm lost.
I've been doing some soul searching tonight, after spending the last 48 hours being someone other than myself and watching in horror as this evil me behaved in a seriously humiliating way.

I'm not who I used to be. I know I've grown a lot in the past 18 months. But in a lot of ways I've also regressed. I used...

Yeah it is a charade, thanks for the concern, I am always pretty careful on the road especially dirving something that is so low to the ground and tiny like a charade. I treat everyone else as double the idiot I usually would driving anything else.

At least get to drive the girls sister's astra back from Sydney tomorrow night, that should be fun.

I have been there. It's lonely. It's worthless. It feels like hell.

As you can see though, I managed to live through it and come out the other side a better person. So first of all, my advice is, don't give up.

I used to get panic attacks - ten, fifteen times a day. If you're there, or anywhere remotely close to there, see a psychologist. I have a good one and his center is in New Farm.

Your lifestyle: The changes that you mentioned above will be the absolute best step in the right direction, but be careful not to put too much pressure on yourself or you will end up feeling very disapointed. Things change slowly, but everything is possible.

Through everything, the best advice that I can give you is THINK POSITIVE. Your thoughts are your reality, and your perspective is everything. Over and over until it's all that you're mind has inside it. Say it with me: "I am happy now, I am ok."

Other than that, I left a book on your chair that I think you should read, if you find time. Test it out and see if it can help you, if not, then you can always talk to me.

Bleagh, another night shift done and another swathe of writing to be done before I can turn in.
I don't even have the comfort of knowing I can sleep in tomorrow, I have a secret mission to execute around lunchtime (don't ask).

Oh well, last week of nights I found out tonight, then back to the real world the week after. No more classes, no...

I would be in Gryffindor without a doubt. I'm recklessly brave and always an average sort of student. Fiercely loyal and so on and so on. I'd probably have the same dilemma that harry did, in that I would have done well in Slytherin as I'm also ambitious, but I'm way too good and brave for Slytherin. Shame, I prefer snakes and the colour green, haha.

I shall keep you informed on the opening. I was hoping it's be open by now but alas, not yet. Soon though, probably next month.

I managed to expel a lot of the fire at a dinner party my parents held tonight. 6 well-educated church-goers... and me all fired up about global warming and the federal election.
It went surprisingly well though there was some agreeing to disagree.

Just because the "message" hasn't been heard yet doesn't mean it never will. Giving up is never the right answer.
In any case, there's an excellent chance that the ALP will win this election: so that's someone NEW to hear the message.

Good going on the effort you make to be environmemtally-friendly. I think part of me is just frustrated that there must be more we can do, y'know?
Somehow.

EDIT: hahah jesus. all your comments are TL;DRs by me. Uhm... so ... data pirates you say?
s_eldorado:
I fucking love you guys.

This weekend is going to shine in our memories for a good long time.

OK. I give in. I'm finally on Facebook.
The first person to give me shit about it will die. Painfully.
I probably won't be there for long anyway. There's no blog. I'm a writer. Do the math.

Yeah well.... that's part of the problem, isn't it? The attitude that it's not solvable or that the system will fail us.
That bureaucracy has become too big of an issue, but I just don't agree with it.

You're forgetting that Australia isn't the only place in the world. And that it can be pressured by other countries.
If a country like Panama can subsidise their aging population - where if you're over 65 (or thereabouts) everything is free or half-price (yeah, everything), then we should be able to do that here.

Fuck, man. If we can find the money to go to fucking war -- if we can find the money to KILL PEOPLE -- then we can find the money to help people.

Major change has occurred before and it will occur again: and if you're not with us, you're against us.
You'll get that blaze of glory, remembered as someone who was against change.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I feel better today than I have done in a few weeks.
Last night brought some good things my way; I had an epiphany (not anepiphany) and my partner on the late shift got very sick (that isn't as callous as it sounds, I'll explain it in a bit).

I realised last night that you don't have to need something in your life to...

Time for a new post.
I may not be long for this online community.
I think it may be time to make some major changes in my life.
I can feel myself starting to fray around the edges.
