i.e.: rant about twitter 🗣🗯
I see all yalls twitter linked posts, but I have a personal problem with twitter developers that keeps me from opening your links.
In a back room deal, Jack (yes THAT twitter Jack) decided to raise $Billions of extra cash in a hurry by selling EVERYONE’S privacy to the highest bidder.
Let me explain...
Open up your browser and clean out all the current cookies and history, and set your browser to PRIVATE. Then, open a twitter session. Click on any tweet or post something of yourself, either way doesn’t matter. Now, go look at your browser. Think it’s still on PRIVATE? Guess again!!! Twitter sold the rights to your privacy by enabling 3rd party cookies (many with cross site tracking and location tracking malware) to open up a simultaneous OPEN browser session alongside what you might believe is your only session which you already configured to PRIVATE, right? To see it you have to open up your browser settings, scroll down to “Advanced” (it might be called something else in each brand of browser ~ open up whatever it is that lets you see your history and cookies) annnd... Voila! There you will see dozens of cookies installed and actively running in the background~ all without your knowledge or authorization. The longer or more interactively you’re involved in the twitter session, the more and more of these nefarious cookies will be installed and running. One night, before I discovered this, I actually had almost 3 Gigs of trash cookies running ~ and they fired right back up even after I shut down and then restarted in the morning ~ meaning they probably knew where and for how long I spent the night!
I’ve been hammering Jack and twitter developers about this for weeks! They admit nothing, and choose to blame it on Google or Yahoo or whatever browser you’re using. But these guys also claim it can’t happen. But there it is!
And here’s the real kick in the ass...
Go back to step one ☝️ above after you manually clear out everything on your browser again. Open twitter, do something there ~ anything ~ like I said just click on anything. Now... log out of twitter. If you’re using a mobile twitter app I’ll go you one better... delete the app. Yes, delete it. You can download it and sign in again later. It’s ok you won’t lose anything there.
So, now you’ve completely severed your connection with twitter, right? Think again! Open your browser. And there are all the cookies associated with your twitter session still active, still running, still capturing your personal data, cross tracking you on where you physically travel and what digital activity you perform ~ your location, your photos, your linked contacts, your future browsing history, your purchases, your music... EVERYTHING is being captured and exported to unknown 3rd parties without your authorization...
⚙️📸👭🔍💰🛍🍺🎁🎧📡 ~ 😱
And they will keep running and exporting until you manually delete them one by one, or do another complete browser cleanup. If you’re on a pc or high end tablet might be a good idea to run a disc defragmentation too.
No other social website has this same conundrum as far as I can tell for now. I shit canned facebook years ago (too much drama), and I’m not a huge insta patron.
So I’d like to hear your thoughts. And, sorry Ladies but I won’t be visiting you on twitter until this illegal charade is properly cleaned up.
