Today I went to a teaching career expo at the Orange County Convention Center. It was a complete waste of time, because each county in FL was represented, instead of individual schools. If an invidividual is like me, and has no desire to relocate, then you can only realistically apply with a few counties. I thought it was rather silly.

I recently applied for another job - this one as a receptionist at a chiropractor's office. I hadn't heard from them and I started to get discouraged, but yesterday I found out why:

a.) The office was closed last week
b.) The "doctor's" husband is part owner of the business, and apparently he's a piece of work (this is my attempt at being diplomatic.) They want to hire me, but they just want to go ahead and do it without his approval because they are afraid that he is going to "scare me off."

After working as a receptionist in an animal hospital with a crazed Vietnam vet who hung a recently castrated dog's balls over the door in his office, I doubt very much that this gentleman is going to scare me off.

Oh, and I have a date tonight! Someone who lives near me, and who I met on the internet. I have no desire to get serious with anyone right now, but meeting new people is always good.
