♥ for most of the last week, sanford was staying with me. i absolutely adore him!! i'm so glad we have become such good friends.
♥ my travel plans have been finalised!! no asia-trekking for this girl; that fell through. my trip to england fell through too!! so my little brother and i are going to seattle together!! i am v. excited about this, as we definitely need some bonding-time. he's coming for four days and i'm going for ten. we're leaving calgary on july 8 and i'm returning on the 18. i'm going to take the train up to vancouver for a night, even!! i'm going to go to the aquarium and the library and the market and the zoo and the space needle and try to take half a roll of film every day, which should be pretty easy.
♥ i am going to warped tour for sure! this makes me a v. happy girl. i can't wait to see armor for sleep live.
♥ i got to hang out with aya on friday. she is a megababe.
♥ last night lavonne sat on my front step, ate gelato and looked at sg. it was rad! we let my kitties roam around the yard and they ate lots of grass.
♥ i got to go on a mini-trip this weekend!! i went to banff with a boy! gasp! we took the bus out to canmore on saturday and slept over at his old roommate's. we went to this pub and watched a one-man band. he was awesome but looked fucking rough, like he'd been drinking beer since he was 8. boy and i got more than a little drunk and wobbled home across the highway and stood in a field looking at the sky. then on sunday we went to banff and climbed sulpher mountain by NOON!! i was so impressed with myself. i'd never climbed a mountain before, and i can hardly get anything done before noon. the hike reinforced how city-girl and out of shape i am, but the view was looovely. we found a spring halfway up and got our hair wet and that made things seem less boiling hot for a while. we rode the gondola down and that was nice enough, only some tourists charged ahead of the line and hopped in the gondola with us so it was awkward times one thousand.
i also found us some wild strawberries to eat. they were such tiny gems of fruit, but so delicious.
it's hard to ignore global warming when the mountains i remember having snow on them in the summer are now nothing more than bare rock!
i napped in the cascade flower gardens for a bit then we continued our trip around. we walked for hours yesterday! the boy used to live in banff so he pointed out noteworthy places, like where he'd got drunk and where he had lived and where he saw the olympic torch being carried through in 1988. we ate sushi and lots of ice cream and wandered the city a bunch and put our feet in the bow river (so so so so so cold!!) and slept on the bus ride home. i swear, i fell asleep before the bus left banff and didnt wake up until we pulled into the greyhound station in calgary.
♥ when i got home, i ran into someone who was riding his bike and he asked me how my day was. i said good. he asked when my birthday was and i said october 2. then he asked the year and i told him. and then he told me that i have a very important day coming up in august--my 8000th day alive! i got home and looked it up and sure enough, august 28 is my 8000th day alive. i think i should definitely celebrate.
♥ i am getting a pair of new tattoos on wendesday. you guys will have to wait. you are sure to die from the cuteness, i swear!
