It's 5 AM. It's Sunday. It's also Independence Day. Where am I? Lab. In lab again? No, in lab still. I've been here since about 10:30 yesterday. Bad sandwiches and good movies are keeping me awake.

We have a couple of laptops in the lab with DVD players and an LCD projector, so I brought some DVDs in and have been projecting them on the wall of my office. I started with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. After that I moved on to Rear Window, followed by Charade. After that it was Manhattan, The Philadelphia Story, and, currently, Adam's Rib.

The sun's coming up now. My window faces East, and I can see the sky getting lighter. I'm not sure how much longer I can stand to be here, but I'm eager to find out.
-------------------------------------------
It's coming up on 9:30 now. I've been here close to twenty-three hours. The data are flowing like a river. Unfortunately, they are flowing like a small river in the dry season, prompting me to pick up my canoe and carry it fifty yards or so every once in a while. Still, after a lumberjack's breakfast (courtesy of Valois' Cafeteria) and a series of three-minute catnaps, I am able to carry on.
---------------------------------------------
26 hours in lab. Going to Harold's Chicken Shack to refuel. Hope they're not closed for the holiday.
---------------------------------------------
Harold's was closed. mad
That's okay, though, because Ribs N Bibs was open. Mmm. Pork.
----------------------------------------------
Okay. 4:30 PM Sunday. That's 30 hours since I started work. I'm going home to get some sleep.

Hot damn, I'm sorry to hear that. I definitely, definitely relate to you though. I hope you got some data out that little adventure.

And I was in Chicago for all of 90 minutes yesterday, and got rained on harder than I've ever been just walking from the plane to the bus that took me to the airport terminal.
