Most of my classmates on there are conservative and it gets old fast reading about how god has blessed them with great kids or how Obama is wrong to steer this country away from its 'christian' roots.

I grew up in a conservative, agriculture based, rural area about 25 miles outside of Portland. Most of the kids weren't that conservative in high school, but something has driven them into religion since then.

I think the neighbor kids are going to be friendly enough that I won't miss mine so much. As it is, they hang out in my yard all the time. They're regularly out by the bird feeders, lying on the front steps, stopping by for drinks of water, and lately, on the roof. There's a black and white one who likes being petted and usually tries to come into the house if I have the door open. Tashe, the newest addition next door, always climbs into my car when I'm unloading groceries, usually wants to come into the house, and loves being petted. He/she was the one chasing an orange and white kitty on the roof that day, and when I got home tonight, was sitting at a corner of the roof looking at something in one of the arborvitae a few feet away (bird or nest, I'm guessing). He/she also comes over to my yard to see me when I get home. I'll be able to enjoy their company at someone else's expense and won't have to worry about something else being destroyed in my house.

Seems like creativity has bottomed everywhere along with the economy. How be 'tings.

I was afraid I'd scare some people off of donating blood. But plenty of people give all the time with no problem. And it occurred to me today . . . I know I have some weird postural tachycardia - my heart rate does funky things when I stand up from sitting. So maybe that has something to do with it. I wonder if I'm "off" in some cardiac way that doesn't cause me any major problems, but messes me up if I lose some blood . . .

But, that would require actively looking for them. If they were more prevalent, the women I happen to meet at work or the grocery store would have a higher ratio of them.
