"Letter from an Occupant" by the New Pornographers makes me want to dance and high five people. It's been the soundtrack to Wednesday.
For a straight week a while back I was reading Devil in the White City everyday and eating a chicken sandwich at lunch. I had a chicken sandwich again today and it reminded me of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair and serial...

SHREK SMASH!
So, Ang Lee's HULK. Let's just go ahead and get it out of the way that the CGI title character looked cartoonish and silly. It's been said, it's a stated fact (or, if you prefer, a very strong opinion), and it won't be brought up again. Personally, I think if they slathered Dolph Lundgren in green paint and give him some tiny shorts...

Unbrand America
In the coming months a black spot will pop up everywhere . . . on store windows and newspaper boxes, on gas pumps and supermarket shelves. Open a magazine or newspaper - it's there. It's on TV. It stains the logos and smears the nerve centers of the world's biggest corporations.
This is the mark of the people who don't approve of Bush's...

Doctors have removed a 4lb baby boy from the stomach of his seven-year-old twin brother.
Alamjan Nematilaev was born with the freak foetus growing inside him.
For seven years it lived like a parasite until a school doctor became alarmed about Alamjan's bulging tummy and took him to hospital. Surgeons who gave him a scan operated immediately, unaware that the baby was attached to the...

"Heather? I would never name my child Heather. I have a very good friend named Heather, very smart, very wise, but I hate that she's named that. She does her best to take that name back from the bubbleheads of course, but no. I would never name my child that."

When in Chicago check out the Neo-Futurists at their theatre on Foster & Ashland. They do a different show every weekend of 30 plays in 60 minutes. The audience chooses the order of the plays. When they sell out, they order out. A roll of the die decides the price of admission.
On an unrelated note, you should also listen to the Prodigy's...

City of Lost CHildren and Delicattessen is jsut mesmerizing. Like most European science fiction, and plain ficiton, it has this amzing tendency of engulfing in it's own imagination.
Adn yes Matrix can eat fuck I guess, I''m more excited about Hulk......of course I'm a dirty fanboy.

Unfortunately, I was focusing far too much on a person, and lost the urge to work creatively. I think I'm just about over that shit, though.
So, yeah. What'd I miss?
Nick was the first friend I ever had. He was the same age as me and lived down the street, and I remember it being a pretty big deal when his folks brought him over to my house and introduced us. It was the first and only time I'd ever been on anything resembling a "play date," but I guess...
