I'm digging this CD by Beep Beep--"Business Casual." It's sickening, yet you could dance to it. And I Am Kloot.
I dropped A's car key into a snowbank, somewhere, and had to search for them, retracing several hours' worth of my steps. My former self was easy to track, because I'd left prints in the snow. I worked all over the park beside the Charles, all alone as it got dark. I knew I wouldn't find the key. The place emptied, and I sort of felt like a ghost, haunting the places I'd been with A earlier. Staring at the ground. The key was absolutely gone--there's no finding something through all this snow.
Then this morning I was walking on the street and I noticed two fortunes (from Chineese fortune cookies) that had been in my pocket with the key yesterday. So I searched around, and there was the key.
One of the fortunes reads, "You won't be bored for long. New adventures await you."
The other reads, "Emotion hinders the true self."
And losing your key hinders driving around.
