an old family friend died a few days ago... he was the son of one of my mums best friends while she was growing up and her little group kept in contact, when we used to live in victoria we would go to their farm and hang out, feed the cows from the back of the ute, watch them break horses in, ride motorbikes etc... i probably hadnt seen him for maybe 5 years or so... i feel bad for his family, they were so close. i remember he had a few close shaves before, i guess working on farms can be dangerous. all death is sad, but i dunno, i guess atleast he had a chance to achieve his dreams, reach somewhat of a goal he had.

GNARWARRE'S Ryan McCubbin was embarking on a new adventure working with show horses when his life was cut short in a horror smash on Monday.
Ryan was riding a quadbike out of a farm driveway in Tarrone Lane, Orford when it collided with a truck about 12.40pm
Yesterday his mother, Sue, said the 20-year-old had just started his dream job working with show horses on a large dairying farm owned by people he loved and described as his ``adopted family''.
``He went away and we lost him and the McGrath family lost him too,''
``He was so happy this week. He only started last week. He was so happy to be starting a new life. I'm just so proud of him as a person.
``I just wanted him to have time to fulfil his dreams. We only had 20 years together and we wanted so many more. We did everything together.''
Laura Kerns, 18, who was a passenger on the quad bike at the time of the crash and suffered leg injuries, was yesterday recovering in the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Her father, Terry said his daughter was expected to make a full recovery.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
Yesterday Mrs McCubbin said her husband, Richard and youngest son, Ben did not blame the truck driver for the death of their son and brother.
``I have already sent a message to him through the police to tell him our thoughts are with him and I'm praying for him to get through it. He will need as much help as we will,'' she said.
``He is a good man that had a terrible accident that was not his fault. We wish him peace.''
Ryan was a natural when it came to horses, Mrs McCubbin said, learning all he knew off his father who shared the same passion.
She said Ryan had found his place in life in the show jumping world and had been offered his big break when he moved to Orford a week ago.
``He belonged to the show jumping world. He had great friends and they were like his family. He said to me `Mum I found where I belong'. I'm so glad he found that,'' Mrs McCubbin said.
``Sometimes it's so real (Ryan's death) I can't describe it and other times it just can't be real _ he was such a great guy.''
Mrs McCubbin said Ryan and his brother, Ben did everything together, from riding horses to raising cows and just mucking about.
``My boys were best mates they did everything together. They don't know how they're going to get through without him.
``We are taking one day at a time from here but he is never coming back to us. We are trying to do the best we can otherwise we won't be honouring his life.
``He was just drop-dead gorgeous.''
it got me thinking... what have i achieved? what am i trying to achieve? right now im just cruising thru not really doing anything. im not helping anyone, im not working toward some dream, i dont even know what my goal in life is. what will people say at my funeral? "yeah, she liked to ummm... spend money... ummm, laugh at others misfortunes, ummm... hmmm she really didnt do all that much did she. "

well they say stuff comes in 3's so hopefully nothing else dies now.
but someone told me they should be making more, and they should be coming to brisbane.
the point is....i'm not sure. someone told me they were, and when i asked about dates the guy said nothing is set yet.
i was just getting all over excited. ahh. sorry. i thought they were.
