so, i've been a little busy lately. i have been spending a lot of time in the studio with different friends, trying to put an actual band together. it is very difficult to find dedicated musicians on maui. i have also been filming more. this last thursday and friday nights, i filmed nofx in a club that hold less than 300 people. friday was fat mike's 42nd birthday, so he celebrated both nights, naturally. it was also the first time the band has played in maui for over 10 years.

i suspended my xl1 from some pipes by the ceiling, but the ceiling isn't very high. the club, called the cellar 744, is below ground level. the footage off that camera needs to be cropped and lightened up a bit, as the lighting in the club sucked ass, but the sound i got off those tapes is not bad. i also walked around with my hand held camera to get some closer shots from different angles. the sound on those tapes is horrid, but i expected that. i'm just going to cut that footage over the audio from the other tapes when it all gets edited. either way, i had an awesome time capturing a couple of very special shows.

i have an attorney for my workers comp case now too, which is a great load off my shoulders. i'm hoping this whole mess will be over and done with very soon, as my patience has worn terribly thin. my doctor released me for limited work, but i'm not going back to work for the brewery after what they have done to me. once i get fully released, i'll have to find another job, which sucks because nobody is hiring right now. whatever happens, i know it will all work itself out.

this year has already been so much better to me than last year, so i'm just going forward with it. i hope it has been well for you too...!
