So, my girlfriend and I have been in Port Alberni for a month now.

We just had our house-warming / open-house event yesterday. It well very well.

I awoke early and raced to Parksville for an amazing haircut from a friend, then returned to help make the preparations for the afternoon and evening.

My Dad was the first to arrive. He's a good man, a bit shy, so he only stayed a few minutes after dropping off the desk that I bought. It was good that he came over.

At first, it was mostly people from my tribe that came over. Family, friends, and coworkers. My grandma and my younger brother, then my girl's relatives: Mother, Aunt, Cousins, etc. I think we had upwards of twenty people during the peak. It was good time.

In the evening, our younger friends showed up. Friends from school and general socializing. It was great to have them over and see our place. I must admit that I took some small pleasure in the friendly jealousy displayed. We have a wonderful home.

We checked out the Fall Fair today, spent the whole day there. We met up with starr_light's cousins, so they came over and we talked for a little while. The she and I napped until 8:00pm. We've been up ever since.

Overall, a good weekend.
