The fun is almost ready to begin again--so let's get the unpleasantness out of the way first, shall we? This is my safest confessional, and I'm grateful and honored that you're willing to share it with me.

As you may have gathered from my last few blogs, I've been dealing with a "touch" of depression, shall we say? Many sad events and frustrations compounded that. Well, then there was something that set off a fresh wave. Not because I lost a friend on Facebook... nothing so simple, nothing so petty. But I've lost closer friends than this guy--much closer friends--because someone took it upon himself to lie to them about me, and they were shallow enough to believe the lies without giving me a chance to defend myself. Well, that or they were lying themselves. So I needed to be sure that this guy didn't drop me due to someone else's mischief. And no, I'm not paranoid--that's really what happened. But the innocent, pitying response I received, as I said, touched off a flood of unwanted memories--and I've rarely been as cold-blooded as I was when I replied to this guy. Here's how it went, if you're interested.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
Me: If an old friend is going to drop me, am I allowed to know the reason why? Just curious.

Him: Dude. You are way too dependent on Facebook for your self-esteem if this is an issue to you. S..., knew you in highschool. I wish you well. I do not do a lot of Facebooking. Your page seems kind-of dark / goth to me and I just choose to move on. I wish you the best of happiness but really man, lighten up.

Me: Okay. One last favor.

Dude. I don't have self-esteem issues stemming from Facebook (which I've been on for less than a year). The truth of the matter is that since I've been writing and entertaining professionally, SOMEBODY has occasionally been either impersonating me or spreading lies in my name. So I'd like to make sure that hasn't been the case, and now I'm satisfied.

But if you want to talk "self-esteem?" What I'm cursed with is a near-photographic memory, I fear. I remember being introduced to you when you were staying at the G's next door... seems my parents thought I ought to make some new friends. I remember our conversation almost to the last detail--we were going to go see "The China Syndrome" (though it didn't happen) and we even mentioned our favorite flavors of YOGURT, for heck's sake. I figured we'd be friends--I even remember collaborating with you on a sketch or two for Mrs. S's speech class.

Unfortunately, I also remember all too well how you easily wound up on the side of the bullies who harassed me during gym class, and how you laughed at my every humiliation... yeah, THAT whole experience did a LOT for my self-esteem. I wasn't athletic, I was scrawny, awkward, and strange, and I liked horror movies too much for my own good. So what the hell, let's pick on the geek! Heck, I'm apparently too "goth" for some people even today (though I've gotta tell you, your misuse of THAT term cracked me up).

I attempted to add you for old times' sake, bygones be bygones and all that. See, when it comes to "forgive and forget," I'm an expert at the former, but the latter never comes to me, try as I might. I'll never forget how I was treated during high school, and you might well imagine I empathize with my own children today.

So yeah, I wish you all the happiness in the world, too. But at the same time, what I wish even more is that we'd never been introduced in the first place. Now I'll get on with my own life and get the hell out of yours.

Thanks for the memories,
S

Okay, now to more pleasant business!

We have another fine GUEST SHOW at the MANOR this weekend...

Greetings, friends--

Would you believe (and yes, that was in the Don Adams voice) that in all the
years we've been on the air (counting guest shows!) that not ONCE have we aired
the Duke Mitchell/Sammy Petrillo classic BELA LUGOSI MEETS A BROOKLYN GORILLA in
the MANOR timeslot?

Well, here comes THE CREEPY CLYDE MOVIE to set that injustice to rights! Sit
back and relax with our oh-so-mellow host as he serves up the zaniest movie that
Martin and Lewis never made (though Jerry DID sue Sammy...)!

All this and Bela Lugosi... hey, it's not Universal, but he IS the man!

Please welcome CREEPY CLYDE to the lineup--it's my pleasure to introduce him!

Friday 10PM Pacific
Saturday 5AM and 10PM Pacific
Monterey cable channel 24 (AMP)
or on-line at www.ampmedia.org
Choose "Programs" and then "Web Stream" for Channel 24

And now... some even MORE pleasant business... HOPEFUL time!

It's not an official MR "set," but my new friend Vinnnie is sharing some of her delightful burlesque work with us!

Naruka was a Hopeful who turned pink right before my eyes--and her new set will leave you...

The lovely codeine serves up a gorgeous tribute to a special friend...

...and now, the moment I'VE been waiting for... I promised you this one quite some time ago but told you that you'd have to wait... well, it was worth it... here's my good friend Tawainai heating up the Stockyards!!!

Hey, this one's worth an extra pic--you do not want to miss the silhouette play in this set, either!

Give them all some love, check out Creepy Clyde this weekend, and we'll see you back at the MANOR for Christmas!

And don't forget... I'm still waiting for that special Hopeful to name herself GIBSON!!!

All my very best,
Remo D.

Thanks for the friend request, it's always nice to make new friends and the comment smile
Sorry to hear about your friend, that really sucks, but at the end of the day do you really want people like that in your life?

I hope that your week picks up
