Went to a walk-in clinic/ER type place near Garden City tonight to see a doc..... $75 got me a diagnosis and a full ten-day-supply of sample antibiotics...... not too bad for no health insurance, I guess.

No booze for 10 days, but at least I'll be off the meds in time to celebrate my new digs on June 1st.....
rozehead:
no booze for 10 days? dizamn! cure sounds worse than the disease...plus $75 for meds...wow...hope you got a "friendly" doctor. wink

not too shabby....way better than those Miriam kids.. They once stuck a scalpel up my armpit there, and I had to pay like 100 bucks..but thats another story.

Tonight is one of those gawdawful perfect spring nights that makes me love Providence again smile

Update: OHMYGAWD. Every time that I think that I can't possibly love SG anymore and can't find anything else on the site to lose precious minutes of my life to, they interview Jhonen Vasquez!

Johnny the Homicidal Maniac is sooooooo good. Terrible, but good. Buy it. Read it. Now.
missprint:
It is lovely.
rozehead:
yep, Jhonen is one funny dude. me likes the "Fillerbunny" especially.

your idea of a good time = my idea of a good time...believe me. (except the part about the frat boys...i could live happily w/o them). this weekend was an anomaly. but, sometimes it's good to change things up a bit, if for nothing more than a new experience or 4.

here's ma theory:
you see, i like scary films. but lately i think they've lost their abilty to truly frighten me. i respect them and see where they're going, but as to being able to elicit a "real" emotional response...well, it hasn't happened in a long time. i took this weekend as an opportunity to see something really scary.

oh, reina, i can handle the filmed slaughterhouse or abbatoir, but these "meat" markets have those beat hands down. my stomach was turning and my head was about to explode. death by dance music and skank...

don't make me go back there please. shocked

All weekend I've been using the Tom's of Maine lemon verbena version of Vick's Vaporub. My bed now has a strange camphor herbal smell to it. It's kind of nice, but kind of weird frown

Hm. Anger doesn't suit me.

On a different note, I spent the evening with oj, pay-per-view and 8 Mile. The movie was pretty damned good. I have a really terrible love-hate thang with Eminem....... his music is great and his politics make me violently ill..... I believe he has the right to say what he thinks and but I want to vomit knowing that little...

well girl.. don't let it get you to down ok...

rozehead:
anger can be pretty powerful. i think it all depends on how it's channeled.
i guess you channel-surfed to mr. angry dude himself, Eminem.
i think a lot of art is inspired by anger. perhaps it's time for you to go paint that picture of "Dogs Playing Poker" that's you've always wanted.
use the anger for the side of good!

So, cute boss walked up to my computer today, grabbed the new Madonna CD I had left nearby, and started a long conversation about the album and its relation to her career.

Ok, so he's gay, I admit defeat smile

He still continued to flirt with me all day. I still continued to be perplexed and flirt back. Bi? Looking for a menage a trois? Just...

No more about you-know-who. Time to move on even if I can't move out. Yet.

I've been doing a very bad thing and flirting with my cute boss at my temp job. But, A: it's only a temp job and B: he may very well be gay. He's flirting back, and that's the only important part, right?

flakaseagulls:
ur right--if its temp the rules dont apply. biggrin
rozehead:
yes, good idea. time to move forward. life is like driving a car...no one *really* needs a rear view mirror. it's about what's ahead that counts. (just don't backup...you might damage your rear by ramming into something you passed a long time ago...)

flirt away...it does a body good!

and no, i wasn't shopping at the mall...i went to those crazy outlets for the first time. they got a little somethin' somethin' for everyone. wow.

People get kind of a funny horrified look on their faces when you start a sentence with, "Well, you see, I live with my ex......"

"REALLY? I mean, man, I've heard about that kind of thing before, but, damn! That must suck. More power to you."

Hero status from relationship chaos. Who woulda thunkit?

rozehead:
i lived with an ex for 5 years.
we never lived with each other *until* we broke up.
(and yes, we always got crazy looks when folks found out)
she's my best friend ever. sure we had our share of troubles (hence the breaking-up), but i couldn't ever imagine us being totally out of each other's lives.
sometimes it works out, but i understand that's the exception.

you're my hero!

Why friends are good, email excerpts, 5/7/03:

Me: I'm going through a very rough, "Yes, living with your ex, even for a short period of time, even if the breakup was amicable, still really sucks" period. Sucky is having to know that your ex didn't come home last night. Not fun.

Eric: Worse than culture shock, I'm sure. Hang in there, kiddo. Put spaghetti in...
