I should be well within the realm of "antisocialism keeping me from getting laid", but for some reason nothing fazes my sex life, even after doubling the amount of computers/consoles in my dark room.
Terminate it, and I believe my current squeeze would add "With extreme prejudice". Dats why I luv her!

So, Mom and Jim went to breakfast, and I chose sleeping in over accompanying them. "Sleeping in".... defined somewhat more accurately as "let's see whose password I can guess to log on to the computer and look at porn!" Turned out to be my sister Jess's password. I'll have to remind her to pick something less obvious

pc or mac?
quark or indesign? (ahahahah... sorry, had to, feel free to skip)
why obsessed with jack johnson?
favorite pick-up line?
favorite local beer?
why?
why not?
what's your Superpower?
...that'll do for now, i suppose.

I'll be visiting mom this weekend and unlike some of you lucky bastards *cough*tjaden*cough*
, my parents seem to get upset when I openly gaze at porn in their humble abode.
Actually, I'll be camping and out of wireless range most of the time anyway.
Ask me more questions while I'm gone. Wednesday will be Q&A day.
Enjoy your weekend, y'all.

okay, time for another story... but first... whiskey.
ah, shit... this place really does suck... no whiskey!? i'll have to have a talkin to my dad about that tomorrow. looks like it's gonna be kahlua and milk for the night... *sob*...
so today, as i was driving back from mowing 2.5 acres of mid-shin-high grass (no, not fun), i was reminded of the time that my step-mother plowed into a corn field at 60mph.
first off, my step-mother is a horrible driver. there is no questioning this.
so, a couple years ago, my step-mother was driving back from their beach house after an extended weekend by herself. a good third of the trip is on back roads through eastern maryland, and she happened to be on one of these back roads when she decided to put in a cassette tape.
looking down to grab one, she veered slightly to the right, ending up going a little bit over the lip of the road and onto some gravel.
being the over-reactive driver that she is (part of the reason she's such a bad driver), she immediately cranks the wheel to the left (at 60mph, mind you). having grossly overcompensated, she flew through her lane, into the oncoming lane, and then onto the opposite shoulder and up an embankment into a corn field.
severely freaking out (and harvesting more corn by the second) she slammed on the breaks... however, "the break pedal wasn't where I was used to it being" (i swear to god she said it), and she ended up slamming on the accelerator, plowing further and further into the corn. finally, she realized her accelerating problem, and was able to locate the break.
she'd gone a good 50yds into the corn by that point. somehow, the car wasn't terribly damaged. she backed out of the swath, collected herself, and drove home.
every time i pass that point i can't help but laugh.

I'm going to NYC for the parties on the 23rd & 30th. Next month would work. What is G-d?
Met SG member Pip for a drink and dinner this evening, since we realized yesterday that we work, literally, directly across the street from each other. I might drag him swimming with me tomorrow, depending on how my day goes. Yes, if you ever meet me for anything anywhere, bring a bathing suit
I'm feeling an interactive entry coming on. Tell me a story and...

Hey, thanks for the welcome! I appreciate it. I don't have a story now but will see what I can work on for ya.

oh, don't worry... you won't have to wait long...
Found a nice state park in MA to swim at after work this evening, so all is well again in my world. Might try a different one tomorrow, just for variety.
I have some ranting and raving that needs to be done about this boy at work that I've been pursuing, but I think that I am mighty embarassed that all of my pursuing has...

shit. actually, i looked at your pics, and one of them had a piece (quite nice btw) about last minute framing. any advice as to WHERE/HOW i can learn to do that and WHERE i can buy cheap supplies? i'm also desperate to learn the best way to digitze my paintings (from which i can later make prints).
Gotta kick this blue funk. Yuck.
*My* beach is closed from elevated bacteria levels (it's rained every day for the past two weeks or so, I think). In fact, *all* of the beaches in the northern part of the bay are closed, which means that ocean swimming is a hefty drive. Friday evening I thought about going in anyway..... until I stood on the shore...

where do you work?
godzuki:
I'm completely surrounded by water - ocean (well, the Sound) on one side, big freshwater lakes on the other. i wish i enjoyed swimming more. If i do hit the waves, i'd much rather it be in the lake though; ocean swimming leaves me feeling dirty, or salty, or something (fishy?), and the lake is so incredibly refreshing, although we also get the damn high bacteria counts from time to time.
All of my friends stood me up in a major way last night.
I think I'm depending too heavily on my sane roommate to be my default date in such situations. Not a bad thing, necessarily, but it sure sucks when he leaves the country for a week-long vacation.....

Ahem. So, I was supposed to go on a more-or-less-blind-date tonight. I rang the gentleman at 7:30 to finalize plans. "Hey, I don't think I'll be able to make it. Did I mention that I have kids?"
Um, no you didn't. Kid(s)? Plural? At 28?
I guess you had to be...

Doh! Sorry, but that's kinda funny.
I have (rather obviously) rediscovered my love of swimming this summer..... as if my kajillion beach entries didn't attest to this fact. I went again tonight, in the brief lull between storms rolling through. The surf was pretty rough but it made the swimming more interesting/challenging.... and being the tomgrrl that I am, my speedo one piece racing suit stays in place just fine

Losing a memory pack location or item such as that pool sucks big time. Just make sure you swim your ass off during the last dip in that pool.

y'know, i really wish i had something helpfully insightful, though slightly witty to say... and i had a fleeting moment of where i saw it on the horizon...
...so i suppose i'll have to get back to you on that. i also thought that there was another good story to read, one that fit the experience of filling in a pool of memories... however, the dewey decimal system of my memory is failing me as well...
i'm basically useless at the moment, so i'll just say it simply: hey, you're rad, and i hope that it picks up... lemme know if there's anything i can do. even if it is telling you about the time i hit myself in the head with an apple...

since when did i become a stereotypical professor???
what is it with second dates these days? i swear to god there must be some sort of societal expectation that if you don't meet the "one" on the first date, then all is lost? what ever even happened to dating? does it still exist?? all i see these days are one night stands, relationships, engagements, and marriages... is there a middle-ground here people? or are we so streamlined and efficientized that we can't even be patient enough to date... ?

umm... how long does it take to get up to where you're at from here? (seriously).
