what a strange and interesting week it's been. last sunday i was flirting with a boy. today i'm in an open, committed relationship with him.

i've never been in an open relationship. i like the theory behind it, though. quite honestly, i myself am not really too good at monogamy, so the possibilities it presents are intriguing. but emotionally it will be challenging.

at any...

wow, i do not feel good. i'll spare you the gory details. but i feel like i got hit by a freight train.

so instead of actually going to work, i'll spend the day filling out 7 "leadership surveys" for work. all of the employees who are director level and above are doing a leadership training thing. you would think that being asked to fill...

ah, well. a few days away from home have done some good. i'm in pittsburgh on business, chillin' with my boys in the office out here (some of whom are adorable, but alas, not single.)

i'm still, truly, mystified by what happened with the boy. it amazes me that i can still be surprised by how much people suck. i hope i can keep that...

i'm a fool.

(does this blog *always* have to be about boy troubles? the topic is feeling a bit worn, really.)

i had been letting my on-again off-again boy stay with me for the last month. yes, the same goddamned one that i've written about previously.

(everyone is welcome and encouraged to smack me upside the head next time we meet.)

he's been unemployed, looking...

wow.

i'm still good friends with my ex-fiancee -- we don't hang out or anything silly like that, but we can still hold a damned fine conversation for an hour or two when some excuse comes up to call one another. he still has some of my furniture, i have all three of our cats, he has my old car, etc. there's always some reason...

"You weren't crazy" Now those are the three little words no one mentions. Keep your "I love you"s. Give me "You weren't crazy" any day.

Kidding aside, how great are those overdue statements? The stakes are lowered. There aren't huge waves afterwards. Just a statement of something you've known all along. It's like the smell of cedar.

i like smart broads hang in there kiddo im sute you smell nice too haha (im drinking so excuse me)

I woke up tis morning and put logs on the fire, had an egg sandwich on a wheat bagel, set up my animal room and watched the snow fall around my beautiful woodssmile
missprint:
It was snowing yesterday when I woke up. I used to love the winter, but I've become one of those people that is cold all the time and I can't take it anymore. I am actually looking to relocate to SF.

I need to travel more and work less.

My employer is actually sending me down to RISD to review portfolios at Portfolio Review Day. I feel like I just graduated. It's kinda crazy. I'm going to force them to take me to The Creperie and buy me a Rita and a Tropical Oasis smoothie biggrin

We should get drinks sometime.

Thanks! It's called "Bonfire" and it's benjamin moore. It's the perfect intensity... at least I think so. Very vibrant, but not oppressive.

Going on vacation reminded me of all of the amazing things I could be doing if I didn't have to work for a living blackeyed

Though I need to stop using work as an excuse.

i have to fire someone tomorrow. and not necessarily because he fucked up, but because i over-estimated his abilities and hired him for a job he wasn't qualified for.

granted, like most situations in life, there were two people involved, and certainly he, whether consciously or not, oversold his talents. but still, it's largely my mistake.

tomorrow is going to blow.

Damn, yes you are in a vaguely similar situation to mine. Sorry you feel so bad, but some people just don't always show themselves truthfully at interviews and you can only know how they perform after the fact of hiring. You're not a fortune teller.

Such is life, and maybe the guy will learn to improve at both his trade and accurately representing himself.

Also, I'm not much into bugs or toyotas (had a bad experience in a bug), but I test drove the Cadillac CTS with direct injection. It too was too large for me, plus I'm not crazy about the front look. The dealer seemed nice and reasonable, though. So we'll see.

I learned how to drive in a Jeep Grand Cherokee back in miami and want more of a compact car now. Hard top is a plus when you live in a large city. It's too easy to stick a knife through a soft top.
