as the sun rises once again from its longest absence of the year, i consider the new things, the reborn things i have found since the last yule. i consider the strength of mothers, the joy of their children and their creations. i consider the hope for continuations, the return of light, of warmth, of abundant life that lengthening days meant to my hearts kinsmen of old, that still mean the same today. i consider my own time spent in the dark, and how grateful i am for the light.
