So I'm gone.

The consciousness dump.

The New NHL - Hockey Blog

I wish all of you the best, keep in touch if you'd like (I would like). I may be back but I doubt it. If there's one thing that being completely fucked over by a woman will do to you, it's ... well, I don't know, actually. I'm just guessing that pursuing the...

The consciousness dump.

I'm not sure I'm continuing on here at SG; those few that might care, my LJ is far more consistently updated than my thoughts on here. Friend me if you have one and are, you know, into that kind of thing.

I am so emo right now.

The long and short of the story is I got screwed -- in both senses of the word -- by this girl who, as far as I can tell, pretended like she was really interested because she wanted to try and distract herself from her "ex"-boyfriend. Who happens to be a good friend of mine.

Then she decides that...

A new track from my band.

Well, not new, technically. It was recorded 8 months ago.

Cool.

Overall, a pretty slick sounding production.

Your vocalist is good, but lyrically I didn't feel a hook.

I liked that you threw in some odd meter changes in your drum part. Maybe it's just an internet bit-compression thing, but the drums could've been a little "roomier" sounding (?)

this is unedited.

------ enjoy the silence.

beware the dreams of the man who is smart enough to know what is going on.

beware his words, for they are drawn from the same well as his nightmares.

beware those who would ignore this man.

beware those who would shun him.

Given the immense stress the end of the school semester is placing upon me, I've elected to use this evening to get totally hammered.

But why is everybody wearing green?

I'm afraid of realizing I'm comfortable.

It's amazing to me how much of ourselves we store in strange little packets in our living space. Today I came upon a post-it note on the stairs up from the parkade in my apartment complex. It had fallen off one thing or another and it was someone's note to themselves. It reads:

-pro-con row(illegible) (remarks?)
-Progress Payment
-...

If you'll look to your left, you'll see an entry under "vices": procrastination. It's a big problem of mine.

But finally...finally...I've made some kind of headway into figuring out why I have such a procrastinator's habituae (which may or may not be a pretend word). Basically, if you wait long enough, the impetus to do anything will pass. It's almost like a behavioral inertia --...

I was just contemplating the Suzuki method of musical instruction and the far-reaching ramifications that's had on my life and brain.

There are a lot of criticisms out there for the method and I'd say some of them are bang on. Teaching perfection can be like playing with fire for some kids, I think; perfectionism can be a devil or an angel, sometimes even in...

I don't know anything about that particular method, but I do know I've had my Les Paul for 2 years now and I still fucking suck.. so I think I need to take a new approach! wink

So I just got pseudo-dumped.

Only pseudo because it was kind of an inevitability really and I was basically waiting for her to take initiative so that I wouldn't have to.

Basic scenario is this: she moved away about a month ago to go to school, amidst heavy reservations that the long-distance bullcrap wouldn't work. I was pretty sure it wasn't going to either, but...

I watched the Superbowl tonight. In addition to being the only NFL game I watch all year I always find it a fascinating presentation of American culture. It always comes across as a: "hey, world, this is what America is all about". I.E.: giant, glitzy, glamorous spectacles featuring rich people, that middle class people watch forget about their miserable existence.

Featuring:

The US Military!

Oh, and lest we forget, the time honored tradition of watching commercials. What a fucking genius management decision that was: make the commercials part of the spectacle. Then people will REALLY watch them.

And buy our products.

Consume! Consume! You will be happy! Here's a beautiful pop star you can live vicariously through!
thejosh:
I welcome a lively debate.

Also the commercials this year sucked ass, they might have been okay but the censors cut out like twenty commericals because of the Janet thing last years they didn't want any controversy. Although the commerical where the bird bitch slapped that guy who was hitting on that chick was funny as hell.

Today was a day of polar extremes.

I went from my personal lesson where I basically engaged in a mildly constructive bitchfest with my teacher about what the hell's the point in being a musician. It seems like all work and very elusive reward. Not only that, but it's hard not to notice the fact that it costs far less to buy a CD, or...
