I watched a some movies today. They were pretty good.

The first was "New Orleans." It featured Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday. They didn't have leading rolls, but they had the best scenes. Billie Holiday can't act for shit, but she has one of the sweetest voices ever. I don't think I'd ever seen any pictures of Billie Holiday. She's really beautiful. I've always loved her voice. She does my favorite version of "Lover Man." Now I'm going to catch wood every time I hear that song.

Louis Armstrong wasn't as bad at the acting part, but hearing him and his band play (along with some others, including Billie Holiday) was the highlight of the movie.

All in all, not a great movie, though. But worth seeing just for the music. It's old (I think 1947), but even for those that don't like the old movies, this is worth watching for fans of great music. And just the chance to see Satchmo jamming.

Another movie I watched today was "Drop Dead Fred"

Fuck you if you don't like it. I thought this was a good movie. Rik Mayall is frickin' hilarious in this. And, call me strange (everyone else does), but I think this was one of Phoebe Cates's hottest rolls. She's so cute when she wipes that booger on that guy... and her mom's pretty hot too. She's such a bitch, but that just makes her even hotter. I've got some pants pie for her...

That's all I've got to say about that. I'm just bored, so I thought I'd entertain myself by watching the little letters pop up on the screen.

I'm not working for the rest of the week. I should have stayed on my job longer. I'm running really short on money and it's looking like I won't have everything sold before I leave. The guy who was going to buy my p. a. didn't call today. I hope he calls tomorrow. I don't think my boy will come up with the money for my keyboard before I leave. And I seriously doubt my car will be sold before I leave, either.

But maybe that's not so bad. If they get sold later, I'll be getting checks in the mail. It'll keep me from spending all of my money before I find work.

I just hope I can get at least a couple more hundred dollars, because I'm fucked if not. I don't even know where it all went. I had so much saved...

Ah. It'll work out. I'll find some legal way to make money up in California. I hope I can get a job driving a truck, but I guess I'll need something within walking distance until I can afford a car.

I looked at satellite photos of the area with Google Earth and it doesn't look like it'll be easy at first. But fuck it. It'll be worth it to get away from some of the problems I have down here. Even if I do have to lose a really good job and perhaps mess up my career as a class A driver.

Maybe I'll be a beach bum. But not on the beach. I don't want sand in my crack. And I'm not getting that close to sharks. I've seen 'em on tv, they scare the hell out of me.

I didn't take a bath for a week after seeing Jaws. I wasn't scared, it was just a coincidence...
