Is it me of our all of the holidays and "holidays" kinda just seeping together into one big year round Superholiday of Evil Doom?

I swear it starts with Halloween, which this year had been the worst its been..I think ever, overbloated consumer destruction-wise. Ok, granted it was destroyed a long time ago by the evil world of Candyland and caffine, but this year was most terrible.

Candy-themed Halloween commercials! No, not Halloween-themed Candy commercials..you think those would be more effective...but no, reverse market those suckers and it works..that's just the tip of the sugar-coated iceburg tho...

Literally the second..I mean counting down... after Halloween, roll out the tinsle carpets cause Christmas was pushed down your throat! The monster is growing each year..larger and even less managable...

Then! the second..no, half-second after Thanksgiving is done plump fathers go, "Oh hoho, lets get us a Christmas tree!" The literal day after, I saw poor virginal trees cut down in their prime (the prime they were raised to die in of course wink ) and brought home to flaunt in front windows like some like some leafy store-front whore....poor things..

I swear Santa must be rolling in his jolly ol' grave...I really wish he'd coem back and show these kids nowadays what Christmas is all about...maybe as some zombie Santa, who eats children instead of their little cookies...yes... (X)_(x)

I used to not have a problem with this...consumers do what their forced fed to do.. but now it has become blatently obvious that this beast isn't gonna stop...

Nope, it already swallowed up New Years in a tide of yule and nog...soon to now overtake Valentine's Day in its glorious consumer carnival of doom.

Yea, the cupid day was a marketing tool to begin with, but damn I could usually slip through February and be like, "Oh.. Valentines day was yesterday eh?" But now, today and previsou days I've heard it like 20 billion times! And I don't even watch T.V. anymore...I dunno..

Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm just obsessing and focusing on this crap..but I'm tending to think otherwise...and what with the downfall of any "sort of good" (sort of in a base form even..) mainstream music and movies and entertainment in general.. it gets me wondering?

What the hell next? This is kind of a rhetorical question, I don't expect an answer. I'm just venting and crap, cause we all know that's what this place is good for sometimes, eh?

Yea, and I'm sure lots of people have bitched about this over the history of contemporary times but then give an "Oh well..what can we do about it?" ...Well, damnit! That's what they want you to do! Zombies! No! Bad! *Slaps hand*

Well, I think I'm done...that's all I've got to say about that..

I didn't know you were a Veg* too! eeek There's a group here with really good recipes and all. It's here. And I completely agree with you in regards to the over-consumerization of all holidays big and small. Its enough to make me want to live in the woods away from all human contact in every shape and form.

But then I wouldnt have DSL or SG. tongue

I've always wondered how Jewish folks feel when they walk into a store around Christmas time and everything they see is screaming "Christmas! Christmas! Christmas!" It drives me nuts, and I don't celebrate anything.

I like the new user pic, by the way.
