The most beautiful moment of 2005....
I'm on the opera. And the Stagemanagement are babes....
One in particular is very fetching ( The Intern...) Rachelle. barely 20 but she has that girly "something" about her that makes me look too much and think too much. She's an ex ballet dancer who does foot exersizes in the wings. Almost habitually as any ballet dancer does. Preparing for her entrance. Rachelle's also used to be into horses and she's very geeky horsey like. Which is very much my type.
Long in the leg with perfect womanly hips. Short on top but broad shouldered. With Perfect round young breasts.
But, really, it's her face. Deep earthy brown eyes and a romany nose. That slight olive complexion that looks like she's been massaged in oil and allowed to sun in the morning in the middle of agean sea.
And when she smiles ( As young women do almost too often...) She shines incandecently when she smiles. Like all young women seem to do. It's so clean and clear. It's like the plague of ages that bitter's a person hasn't hit her yet and dulled any potential. The silver of her heart.
Really, as I see it now for what it is. It's that innocence that captivates me. I see it and I miss it even though I know I could never date S.M.'s again after all the hell I went thru with Tobi all those years ago. So, I disconnect as much as I can and try to let go. But, still I voyuer and watch for, that perfect beautiful moment.
A Moment which, by the end of the night. I almost swear she gives out as often as a deep breath. But their was one that caught me like a trap. While I was seen in turn. Caught redhanded by the beautiful woman I was staring at.
At the height of act 2 in the middle of the big number. The stage gets bathed in this mercury blue light from the side lighting trees. And I just glanced at her. While waiting for her standby cue to help pull in a drape. And there she was drenched in blue light on one side and lit by amber side lighting on the other. Right at the height of the onstage singers romantic aria.
And she seemed so captivated inside her own emotional thoughts. All the while, playing with a curl of long chestnut hair at the nape of her neck with one dainty hand. As the other hand counted in time to the score out of her book.
Working at the beat towards our standby. Rachelle's eyes shined against the blue /amber light. glowing like glicerine stars. Betraying trough this tiny hint by tears. Of some deep secret emotion. Dark and fearfull. Like Ingrid Bergman's at the end of Casablanca. And I sensed a private moment in her that I was certain. I wasn't supposed to be alowed to experience.
She looked up from her score to cue me to standby and our eyes caught. And a shy smile broke on her face. One of connection. Connection of a beat of the heart that I hope I will never forget. Like a brief revelation, in that second. I peared right into her and how romantic and lonely she felt. And how perfect I saw her in that moment.
And then our reality reconnected and we were boss and worker again. Just like that.
And we recorrected.
I just hope I never forget the very second before..........that.

missing shows my ass, you know damn well we still work when we're sick! Then the whole damn crew gets sick! It's like, teamwork or something!

Only a little more heart, sadly. There are a couple of fantastic songs, but the plot is so incredibly shallow and un-heartwrenching. You'd feel happy for the little orphan getting her break, if there were any build up. 10 minutes into the show she becomes rich little orphan annie. At least she's got a killer voice.
