Dice Game....

Well, the rock and roll route is a wash out right now. And the film industry has been slow ( Very ) slow. That coupled with the civic strike and the PNE all going to all the senior cats. I've decided to play it safe and stick it out at The Stanley for Cookin.

Which is a great show, The R&B Jazz band...

Titan's Gravity...[/BI

feel my self slowly being pulled in.....

Back to the rock world. There's been a resurgence resurgence of rock and roll venues here in Vancouver. Staffed regularly by several old friends of mine. The Plaza, Red Room ( Which I love for it's low roofed Luv-A-Fair feel...) And Richard's. They both want me to come in and learn the systems. I love non...

Unfortunately... I tried to hook up with the guy who was looking for extra guys again to no avail... That's the bad thing about Nonunion work. You can never bank on it comming to furition. So,it's back to theatre for the rest of the summer... and maybe try again to see if I can swing some tech time with the guy in October... Which is my next break from the land of Musicals.

OH Canada....

It's been pretty crazy out there....

This has to have been the most Jingoistic Canada Day I've seen. I've never seen so many Canadian Flags out in the streets ever. First up was the Fireworks. Right after Gypsy came down for the matinee I headed downtown to check out the scene.

It's a Zoo down on Vancouver on any long weekend. And usually...

Fall Out Boy.....

A little extra day gig,,, Or so I thought. I had a 9-am call to load in Fall Out Boy up at the coliseum. Last year, the last time they were here it was a rig and a half tour with local hire lighting. Real simple. 3 hours and change and I remember being back on the road. And the strike was...

The Problem With Shy....

I can't sleep...,,,,

Even with the million molecular particles of two chocolate flavored melatonin 3 strips, floating thru my brain. I'm thinking too much again. last nights swing show sort of made me see a new interpretation against a pre-blocked experience. And I'm too awake now here in the early morning.

And what am I thinking about? as usual..... Women.

So,...

Gypsy 2.0

We have a swing for the lead... this is a momentous occasion for the company I'm working with. God knows how someone was able to convince the powers that be that the lead, who sings all thease angry songs 8 shows a week. Needs to be subbed out once and a while. And we only have 2 weeks left in the run. This...

I want to write about my best, so far, moment of making love to a woman....

That's what the title means. It's the perfect summer dawn deep in the middle of twilight. That's a real orgasm to me. That term is my secret memo to myself. I want to see dawn, deep inside her being and her arms

Years ago.......I'd been seeing this woman. Michelle,...

Birthday-Burlesque- And The Jennifer Jason Lee Affect

So, it was the big 4-0 recently as of Thursday. The Crew bought me a bottle of Le Jimadora ( The only imported Tequila really worth a swig of salt and lime in Canada ) And we went with Tequila in hand to a punk burlesque show down at the Cobalt. Which, oddly, had a dress code originally...

Everything I really know I learnt from Doctor Who....

" Time, in reality, isn't this linear progression...It's sort of this round blobby thingy with strands that connect different places and moments in time "

I'm nearing the real...I'm 40 moment. All that Jazz. Just a few days and nights away. I've been telling myself and others that ask that I'm already 40 since january. Sort...

Sounds like you're getting a good handle on being over this woman (whoever she was to you), so I'll spare you the advice, and suffice it to say "good luck."

As for SSS sufferers, here's another common trait: denial. The most vociferously opinionated or willing to debate the topic (and let's not forget here that it was a sardonic bit of writing intended merely to inspire a chuckle or two) are the ones who obviously suffer from it in a very real, un-ironic sense. Sigh. Perhaps one day I'll be a master satirist, but in the meantime, I'm just Ms. Understood. wink

Sign Your Name Here....

We ( Us Stagehands.....) Have this tradition. We sign our names on the theatre walls. A secret internal Graffiti. We work on all these artistic en devours. Mostly feeling like the coal boys in some English manor house. Such is the Caste system in theatre here in this sad British colony that is Canada. And our only claim to immortality is...

As there are no Rock Shows to work inbetween Gypsy run calls....

( I'm really not liking this particular run....It just a mulitude of little things that Annoy me about this particular Theatre Company that is riling me right now. During Act 1 - Before the burlesque girls bit, and Louise Becoming Gypsy and Peeling her way into the last scene. I run...

Everything's comming up roses

Well, opening night is over and we're into the real part of the run. The QET ( The Big House in town ) is closed for the summer for a ceiling and catwalk refit. The summer concert season is still far away and, I've quit the Chan. Which means that "Gypsy" is pretty much my sole employer til the Film season...
