I have done nothing exciting since I last was on here with the exception of my staff party where I got completely wasted and snogged my friend Lily a few too many times...

What i have been doing is working full time and then eating and sleeping and then working full time, eating, sleeping, in an endless cycle. I don't think I have any friends no one every invites me anywhere....

What I have done is read a tremendous amount of books...

Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
A book about the future of English magic set in the 1800's. It is a novel but presents itself almost in a factual way like a case history rather than a period novel. Its uber long (over 1000 pages) but if its your sort of thing you will really enjoy it. I found it compelling to read until the very end which i thought was a bit rubbish.

Mary, Mary by james Patterson
The most recent Alex Cross novel has such a rubbish plot for the crime spress I really think Jmes Patterson is losing his touch however its worth glossing through so you cn find out the stuff thats happening with Alex Cross and his family because thats the only interesting bit of this book.

The Contortionist's Handbbok by Craig Clevenger
By far the best book out of the current lot. I picked this up to read solely based on the fact Chuck Palahniuk said it was the best book he'd read in ages. And it was fantastic. Its about this guy who has these insane headaches however the doctors cant find anything wrong with him. Anyways as a result he often overdoses on painkillers and in hospitals if they are unsure whether it is intentional or not you have to go through a psychiatric review. Obviously it would be bad news to have more than one of these on your record so instead he constantly changes his identity. Its a fantastic read can't wait to see what he writes next!

The Hearing Trumpet by leonora Carrington
Apparently its a modern classic, I think its rubbish...

Tamburlaine Must Die by Louise Welsh
A fantatsic novella about a fictional account of Christopher Marlowe's last 3 days. Its written in the first person, in a fast paced refreshing way which makes it easy to read and un put downable! I read it in work one day and its just a glorious read - I've got her first novel from the library now so hope its as good!

The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
I can't belive I didn't read this til now I found it absolutely amazing. You can really see the reflection of Plath's own life in her novel and she truly wasn't afriad to say anything. Her writing was clearly well beyond her time as it really does feel modern and new to read now. I think its such a shame she didn't write more *sigh*

And now I'm reading Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk and its brilliant so far!
