Well it happened I was laid off/furloughed till hopefully the end of the month. But they are not really sure. My work did their best to keep us working for the last two weeks,but just couldn't afford it. I work at a thrift store and we were closed to the public. We cleaned and did needed repairs while closed. There is more to be done but just couldn't pay us. I been working since I was 11 years old. This is the first time I ever in my life had to sing up for unemployment. I thought it be tough to do since I heard a lot of horror stories. It wasn't. I was told at 9 am I didn't have to go to work. By 10 am I was signed up and even with welfare. Should have an answer by this Thursday on both. I do have PTO I can use but I am holding off on that so we can take vacation hopefully at the end of June. All the skills I learned when I was homeless( and living in a war zone) with 6 kids many moons ago will come in handy with me and the 3 grandchildren. I know how to come up with some crazy meals with very little. At least this time it isn't from living out of a car. with time off I can do some repairs around the home. Can do some writing too. I believe life is good. Get to teach the kids more 'real' life skills.
