urg. been off the site for a while, partly because I've been attending to the last bits of my mom's stuff (& still not really close to...well, closure)...found a home for the piano, the dog & the cat, now there's just finishing up the house, & we've been kinda dragging our feet.
the piano is with some friends after much grunting & straining (& I...

my "Yahoo" horoscope for today:

Horoscope (by Astrocenter.com)
Today you might receive a small sum of money, dear Cancer, perhaps as compensation for some creative work, which you've done a little while ago. You probably won't need this for your day-to-day expenses, so you might be pondering how to spend it. You'll probably end up investing it in a new project! The success and acknowledgment...

another old piece (unfinished, &, to be honest, I don't much care for it, but I'm really not in a writin' mood much of late--but I will say that I finally got around to watching "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre" & think it's now one of my top 10 favorite movies)

from Tororo a little while ago, from a novel by Howard Buten:
Je n'aurais jamais cru que je finirais dans une suprette. Quand j'allais dans une suprette et que je voyais la personne derrire le comptoir dans sa blouse tristounette, je me disais: il faut qu'elle ait fait quelque chose de mal, sinon elle ne serait pas l. On peut faire quelque chose de mal,...

1- 1999 and 2000 were atrocious years where I was unable to simply put a pen in contact with a paper sheet, even for scribbling or doodling. Quite a handicap for someone whosn't good at anything but drawing.

2-Yes I do, if only metaphorically.

So it happens also to be Halloween in your dreams?
And for Buten, the guy could be a good conversation starter with Nala, 'cause she's the sole dedicated Buten fan i noticed on the site... (besides me, but we're still having conversation, right?)

lowest: senior year of high school. i was there but you'd be hard pressed to find me. check the yearbook. you'll find no evidence of my existence. I found a grave and I buried myself in it. The only difference now is I don't mind it so much. The grave keeps me warm. I am happy there.

tic toc! yes! hahaha!

on the one hand, the place where I work is a grim, oppressive pile of concrete & razor-wire arbitrarily, offensively, squatting in the middle of a formerly undeveloped bowl of the desert on a patch of land scraped free of vegetation like a mass of scar tissue on mother Earth.

on the other hand, on frosty mornings like today everything get's all sparkly like an...

not sure why this popped into my head just now, but my partner & I were working on a film a couple of years ago when she decided to speak with a Southern Accent for two weeks solid (her normal accent is kind of a bit western drawl with an overlay of Brooklyn)

how could I NOT fall head over heels for thjis woman?
bettietwoguns:
in colege, my roommate and i spoke in an irish accent every time we spoke to each other. for the whole year . . . i thought it was just us . . . glad to know i was wrong!

i'm typing this and thinking in scottish. i love doing shit like that.

looks like the trip to NYC at the end of the month probably isn't going to happen.
reasons: might be better to wait until my income tax refund comes thru--I've tramped around NYC both stone-broke & homeless & having a bit of cash in my pocket. having cash is better.
the Partner will be working extra hours the week I'd planned. she'll be able to...

oh, but having that young sis with bad music taste really sucks. my sister has gotten to the point where she'll go with the dixie chicks over Patsy Cline. i just about flipped.

for an impulse, random rental (I do that a lot) the other day I rented "Roadside Prophets"--vaguely remember having heard that it wasn't bad.
it's an okay movie (& it has Arlo Guthrie, Adam Horovitz, John Doe, John Cusack, & Timothy Leary in it.)
what kinda took me back was the realization that most of it was shot around here, apparently when I was going...

I mean, if every time a random person asks you: did you free many winged creatures last week? you grasp your pen and write a thing like this one...
I mean, is the job so great, hooker in Minneapolis? see what I mean.
tororo:
Um. The question implied in the above posting is silly. No surprise: I'm really silly sometimes.

a bit happened last night (mostly in the philosophical arena), but I don't feel like writing about it right now. here's some more old bits & pieces:

As heavy as she is.
As much water as she displaces when she gets into the bathtub.
As many words as she has rubbed off the pages of the books she has read.
As many songs as...

I really like those pieces, do you write them for anything in particular? I'm working on a little zine and those kinds of things, The As Heavy as She is and the Dear You especially, are the kinds of things I really am working for. Those are so beautiful.
tororo:
That thing you posted on my page has made the scars on my back -the ones where the lower pair of wings once was, these that never totally skinned over well- suddenly ache and burn!

Was it in that treasure box of your HD where you find these things you posted lately, or did you write it on special purpose for the Put-A-Fowl-Out-Of-Its-Misery Day?
