I've been working fervently at changing things in my server the last few days, but I was talking to a friend online, and thought of a story, which I thought deserved to be told. Not because it's extraordinary, but because it's happy. And I don't do happy nearly as often as I should.
Since before I was born, my parents have loved camping. They started out in tents and eventually got a camper. When I was 5 years old, my parents decided to go on a road trip and take my brother and me to Toronto to see Canada's Wonderland and to Niagara Falls to see the falls and to go to Marine Land. Of course, Wonderland was a huge hit, and so was Niagara falls. I got to take a tour behind the falls, and it was awesome. to this day, I'd still like to take that tour again.
The part I remember most is Marine Land. We went to the amusement park part of it, and I was too small to ride almost everythng but the ferris wheel, so my brother took me on it, just the 2 of us (when you're 5 and 10, it's a big deal). When we left, my dad was sorry and felt bad because we couldn't enjoy the amusement park more. So I started going over the things we'd done at the aquarium part of it. We got splashed when the killer whale jumped, and I got picked out of the crowd to play catch with a dolphin! I caught the ball when he threw it back, and won a chocolate bar (Mr Big, if I remember. I gave it my mom, I didn't eat nuts when I was a kid). I even put on my shark hand puppet I'd gotten from the Metro Toronto Zoo and started "biting" my dad on the shoulder with it. He gave me some of the best memories of my childhood that summer.
