Something to consider. 1-25-08
The old saying "life is short" may be a bit more misleading then people realize. One who dies at an early age could say life was short if they were able to, other could say about that person their life was short. However what is short? A year can be a tremendous amount of time, have you ever considered how much has changed in your life within one year? I know my own life has changed a number of times over in the span of one year, in the span of six months even.
Change is a constant force (another saying I am suspect of, if change is constant then wouldn't the nature of constant change also change? I will use it here anyway for illustration purposes) within all of our lives and it reshapes the essence of who we are and what we do on a second to second basis. At any given moment we can experience something that will reshape us and the way we see the world around us.
Then of course we must consider those who struggle with life in a way most of us could not imagine. When you are in a situation where you must endure insufferable pain it is easy to feel as though life is far to long.
I have been alive for 30 years, 30 years of life has shown me and given me countless stories and memories. Thinking back over these 30 years I can not even remember the details of every year that has passed, that much time has passed, an entire lifetime for a man living in the early days of human civilization. With modern medicine being what it is and me being in reasonable health I can expect to live at least another 30 years.
Think about that for a minute. I am in all likelihood going to live an entire additional lifetime to the one I have already lived and can not completely remember. That is huge. You probably will as well. Think about it.

yikes! that sounds like a really horrible situation! that's just crazy. i guess some people really do just need to be cut off i talked to my particular problem a few days ago, which is probably a good thing since we know a lot of the same people and it would have been hard to keep avoiding each other around campus. i'm glad it happened because i was tired of being constantly angry, but i don't forsee us being friends again
