just saw the red sox win game 3 of the series. you gotta just appreciate greatness sometimes... like watching Papelbon blowin' smoke. I'm pulling for the rockies actually, since my A's have been long out of it (and they've been handed some sad losses at the hands of the bosox in recent past). plus I heard the sad story about the 3rd or 1st base coach this year who got nailed in the noggin' with a line drive and died. left behind a family with 2 little kids, who threw out the first pitches (simultaneous 1st pitches) in one of the playoff games. this world... ugh.

ya life is not looking up anytime soon. I work all the time and make no money. the joy of photography... I hope I can say it was worth it one day before I die. I may be doing some photoshop work part-time for this photographer who shoots baby portraits, starting next week (please Lord) it's nice to see a success story like hers. you really gotta be cranking out stuff to make money like that. I think the portrait stufio business doesn't even exist anymore, except maybe in a few small towns where people known for that work in the community have had a good clientele for a long time. and like this woman who probably hasn't been making money at it very long, but she's great at what she does and I'm sure she's sacrificed a ton in order to do it (as she says, night and day for like 6 years). babies are freakin' hard to shoot too. they're super-quick, often cranky, etc. my sister has two little kids, so tha's how i've found out. one of them is 5 and the other is 3 now. I should post a few pics, both such cuties. she gets walmart photos every year. like all kinds of prints for $30. fuckin' sad. that's the prob with this country. photography used to be a good profession and corporatization has larged fucked up, and I truly believe it is the root of most our major probs. call me a left wing zealot, whatever. fuck you. I signed with stock agency 2 years ago and haven't gotten a dime from them. I know what some photos used to sell for in stock... and you'd figure they signed me for a reason, but nada. they said if you expect to make money you need to send us like 500 saleable images a year, and I'm thinkin lady you need to give me more than a baseball hat and a pair of flip-flops if you want me to produce 500 images. I did go into this with my eyes open. didn't want to "bank" on any one particular thing in my business. hopefully some of the things I've done right so far will eventually bear some fruit.

so no halloween fun tonight. I was gonna dress up as Lando Calrissian (from Star Wars dammit!) but girls don't even know who the hell that is anymore. so prob I would get, wtf are you kissing my hand and please go away. I googled his name because I had no idea how to spell it of course. so Billy Dee Williams is fucking 70! 70 dude. and he's plays a janitor on general hospital (soap) now. he's also on Scrubs apparently so that's not too sad. but anyway he says it just about having fun now... and he's proud to have been the 1st black man in space. made me chuckle. Billy Dee was the man. I could pull off the costume with just a cape/robe and a hoster with a gun. maybe a vest would be good, but I have other stuff that would work. not worth the effort now though. I need to get off here and do some work to try and keep my ass off the street. must prioritize. maybe i can meet little red-riding hood next year. frown
