Tomorrow is the big day for my wife. We have to be at the Hospital at 11:00 am and the surgery begins at around 1:00 pm. Total surgery time will be around three hours. If all goes well, Kathy will be able to go home after the surgery. Otherwise, she will have to spend one day in the hospital. I won't have immediate access to...

My wife just received her surgery date. Friday March 2nd. She is going to have a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction. Once again, if the margins are good, my wife will not have to have any radiation or chemotherapy. She seems to think, given her family history, not to mention the fact that there is a tricky spot near her chest wall, that she will have...

Glad your wife is doing well.

Congrats on the station reformatting and keeping your job afterwards -- around here they're famous for emptying the ranks when they do a format change. I'll take a listen the next time I get bored with sirius. It's one of my preprogrammed channels, if I recall correctly.

The trip to brunch with your wife sounds nice. I love doing stuff like that with my husband.
I hope she is doing well. I will be thinking of her on Friday.

Another early Saturday morning at my part-time gig where I can kind of let my mind settle after another FUN week...LOL. This sort of stuff has become the norm, so I am becoming way too accustomed to it. Here's the scoop...on Wednesday, I got the call at 3:30 am that my father was being transported to the ER with difficulty breathing and shoulder and chest...

Hi Everybody;

Sorry for not getting the word out sooner..but Kathy will have to have additional surgery. The pathology came back yesterdayand it found that the cancer was more widespread in her right breastthan originally thought. So, this means Kathy will have a mastectomy on the right side at a minimum. More than likely she will opt to have a bilateral mastectomy(both breasts)done with reconstruction...

Hey Everyone!

Sorry for the delay in getting word out about my wife. She had her second lumpectomy ysterday and came through with flying colors. She is home resting comfortably. Of course, we have to wait for the pathology report to comeback...and that won't be until Feb 1. Until then, we wait patiently(yeah, right! smile ) for the good word.

I would like to thank everyone...

The latest on my wife Kathy is her next surgery is scheduled for Jan. 23. AFter that, we will get the pathology back from the Doctor on Feb 1. HOPEFULLY...this will be the last surgery she will need, and if all goes well, she will begin her six weeks of radiation shortly afterwards. This hasn't been the easiest way to end last year or begin...

Just got back from my wife's post surgery appointment. We discovered that she has to go back for some more surgery because the margins were not quite clean enough to suit her surgeon. The surgeon was within 0.1 cm of the margins, but because there was a some portion of invasive cancer(about 3mm), she wants to make sure everything is clear. This way, my wife...

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am this #*&#@ week is over! First, the drive home from NYC to DC on Tuesday totally sucked. Then my wife had her surgery on Wednesday...which went well by the way. smile But before I could even get her to the hospital for that, we received a call at 2:30 am that my Dad had been taken...
