There is a video parlour where I go. It has an infinite number of films, each only a possibility. There are a subset of these films which are the possibilities of my life at any given moment, from birth on. This subset is infinite. I can see these films from time to time. Sometimes I see others possibilties also. The paths we did not take, the roads we did not travel, the ways we did not turn our heads, footfalls in other directions. The others I don't see very often, less often than my own.
