Looks like I need to update my photo since the re-scale has rendered it a bit 'fuzzy'.

Been presenting the results from Peru to several groups. We have some private presentations coming up for money-raising purposes.

Other than that, life has been pretty pedestrian since the end of August. I have a training trip coming up the next weekend to NM, then November 1st, I...

So I'm going to lead off with a small request:
<rantlette>
Hopefuls: Please stop trying to friend me when we have had no contact whatsoever in any way shape or form. I applaud the fact that you are following your bliss and putting up a set, but I will vote for it based on my oddly shaped opinions, not because you have flung an insincere...

I am now back in Colorado for the next couple of months. Florida was fun, but I was tired after Peru and the ocean was closed. Fortunately in the great state of Florida... if they close the ocean you can go cave diving. We got some great cave dives in including one of my students first mile long ride underground/underwater. At the deepest point we...

After 2 days in Cusco and 8 days in the field followed by another two in Cusco, I am back in Lima. We did several dives and climbed a new route on a nearby peak.

I leave for NM today for three days of training then I have four days to get ready to head to South America. Packing for a combined mountaineering/diving trip has been pretty strange. I know how to do either one alone, but the hybrid occasionally has me confused.

My son got a gig with Bing maps, I'm hoping he likes it there. He's had a...

I am in Lima, 1st day. The weather is cool, cloudy/a little foggy at the moment. My expedition partner arrives tonight and we have a lot to do. I have to go rescue the shipped equipment and get dive tanks filled. Monday we are off to Cusco and from there I sleep in a tent for a while and dive in a cold lake.

Well everything is lined up. I am in Peru for three weeks in August, followed immediately by a trip to FL to survey an underwater wreck. Then I hang out with my Father a few days before heading for Grand Cayman. On the downside... I will be poor for a few months,,, On the upside... I will be....

Two years ago today my mother passed...

Super ultra hyper mega zeta busy. Two gigs at the moment, and getting ready for an expedition. I am in New Mexico all weekend training with my crew. It's crazy hot and windy, but the water always feels good. Tomorrow we have a series of deep training dives followed by some emergency drills.
I always feel like I teach the greatest gang of people around....

I am laying in bed (my own) after a long 5k mile cave diving road trip. I am tired tonight after driving back from Florida.
The trip itself was pretty awesome. I saw a lot that I had never seen and taught a really attentive student the rudiments of proper diving.
My potential expedition looks to be heating up again, so I am pretty psyched...

I made an elaborate (for us) breakfast this morning, one component of which was grits. For those who do not know what this is, it's course ground hominy( a larger relative of corn) kernel. Boil it, add butter and cheese and you have a mildly unhealthy, but tasty in a southern way, breakfast component.
There's nothing particularly special about my making grits, eggs, etc... I...

Snowing like crazy this morning. I think french toast for breakfast and some Mexican hot cocoa. I'll need to get cooking in a bit to make this happen.

I am working my butt off at the moment to be able to not work at all later in the year. This is really how I want to continue going for the foreseeable future. Work half a...
