Just back from 34 days on the road. First 3 weeks at the flight test center in Mojave, then almost 3 in Fairbanks, Alaska. Me, on an air force base (Eielson), what a hoot!
We made the front page of the Fairbanks newspaper. Must have been a slow news day for a research aircraft to get that much attention.
The highlight of the trip was watching the first x-prize launch in person at Scaled Composites, the company that built the aircraft we work with (Proteus). I got to crawl all over Spaceship One the next day with a couple of the pilot/engineers to talk about improving voice/data/video communications!
