Wreck diving with mixed air, dry suits and reserve tanks? Obviously a long dive (in either poor visibility or quite a ways down) Where was this? Looks like fun.
r00kers:
Lake Huron, near Alpena. Wreck was at about 190FFW and freaky cold water (34F). Visibility was great, though dark at those depths. Praise be to helium!

Back in the saddle again after recovery. I have now put it nearly 2000 miles on my bicycle since surgery, both mounted in the wind trainer and on the open road.

Just back from Florida where I did 8 days of cave diving. Big dive was to 180ft about 1400ft back in a system called Peacock III. Did it on trimix (helium/nitrogen/oxygen) with 100% oxygen...

Ouch! That is rough, sorry to hear that. I had a ligament injury when I was very young, 13 or so- I did it skiing. Not quite as serious though.

Heal well!

How are you holding up?

On the fuckola conveyer again, going round and round. I wonder who turns the crank? Sometimes I just want the white, white noise.

Yes Murcof- Martes is so beautiful, huh? I heard him play a couple years ago in San Francisco through one of the best sound systems I've ever heard- amazing.

I'll see who's on shift at the fuckola factory and maybe have them throw some sabots in the gear-works......

Late night working on some things for the internet cooperative. My lab seems unusually somber, perhaps because of the lights that have decided to stop working.
I layed in a bunch of wood today as we are expecting more snow tomorrow. I am glad of the moisture it brings, it means our pond will be filled by the local springs come April.
I finally have...

I recall the spring thaw in Big Springs when I first made a connection to the source of the name. That year the winter began in anger late November and I never saw the bare dirt until early June. The Big Springs road was "littered" with springs that popped up every few yards. That was the year the city decided it was necessary to replace the remaining bamboo water lines with something a bit more reliable. Ah...Nederland.

Snow! Lots of it. Everywhere I look. I had to move a lot of it to attend to various needs. In the spring, the water it brings will be as welcome as the snow is now.

Thanks so much! Hope you're doing well!

Back from FL, in the depths of winter here in the high country.

3 fox and a bobcat sighting in the last couple of days.

A commercial interest wants to buy our cooperative. They will have to convince at least 2/3 of 500+ member shareholders. I wish them luck.

On Florida, I did a lot of cave diving (scuba diving in caves). Spending 90 minutes...

First big snow of the year has arrived with another storm coming tomorrow. Skiing might be extraprimogood this year. Almost ready for my month in Florida, although I almost postponed it with the recent tragedy. Finding someone to take care of our old dog while we are on the road is proving challenging.

I met with someone today who sat and talked (and talked some...
