Not a bad week's-end. The leaves are all off the aspens.

sallow eyes, shallow plastic
in the vortex sucked to the blinking red on-air
emerging fresh for five to cycle back
life like but not
the needle for your mind's eye

Nuther beautiful weekend day. I have a cold, but not feeling too badly. I have lots of stuff to do for the coop and then a Mtn bike ride.

and the brown tinged yellow-orange appeared, another turning
to fall to winter around and back
we will be here again soon, the same and different

Its a stasis within activity here in the student union. It looks mostly the same from year to year as I prepare to start my 7th year of teaching here. I still love it. I think I will always love it, even when I hobble to class on artificial hips and knees, installing my teeth so the students can understand me.

some werk, some play. Off to hawaii in a couple for a couple of weeks of camping, hiking, diving, surfing. Teaching the 4 yr old to snorkel, what a kick. He loves the water and really seems to get it.

Catching up on my client's work finally. It will be a kick if my cryo-cooler control design actually gets flown by NASA. I am pulling for the shuttle, it will be the first opportunity to fly my hardware, after that, all satellites.
Still got a boatload of coding to...

I used to live in Nederland. The day I moved there, some guy got busted for keeping his father in a Cryogenic Freezer in their garage, or something like that. I used to work at the P.I. That was about 10 years ago.

blah blah heretofore blah board of directors blah blah be it noted blah blah conflict of interest blah blah

Writing the by-laws for a coop I helped found last year. It is a lot of dull dull work. But we have 130 members now and lots of revenue, so I guess we should have a governing structure.

How did Nic take a cross-continental journey from...

A red-tail hawk and a red-tail fox were about in the woods today. The pasque flowers are up and there are two springs flowing into the small creek on our land.
My little boy is loving it right now.
The elk are off for the high country and the bear should be out and about soon.
S'beautiful this time of year.

Back from NY and my uncle's memorial. It was good to see his band play and speak with all the people that showed up.
His band played old-timey stuff, what they've always played, with an empty seat for him with his guitar propped up.

Back to work today though I will be watching my 4 year old's swimming lesson later, smile

I haven't been to a funeral in a very long time, the last one was for my nephew about 15 years ago, his casket was so tiny I remembered. My sister was a basket case, and I didn't even cry... I felt sad yes, but I never cry at funerals. I remember someone said to me at the funeral, yeah my mom actually, that I must not have loved him because I was not crying.... that was wrong anyway, I know that.... I am more the type to cry silently in my own bed where I can pull the covers over my head.
That must have been nice seeing your Uncle's band play, I bet he would have wanted it that way.

Hey you love Run Lola Run too.... I only wish that I had bought it on DVD now instead of VHS... I got my DVD player about a month after I bought Run Lola Run.

A good man is dying
He would play me tunes on his guitar
Salty Dog my favorite
His hulking frame is gone
His wry smile soon will follow
Brother to my Father
Father to his children
Fuck all anyway

He has died frown mad
I am off to Rochester, NY for a memorial. His band will play.

There is a video parlour where I go. It has an infinite number of films, each only a possibility. There are a subset of these films which are the possibilities of my life at any given moment, from birth on. This subset is infinite. I can see these films from time to time. Sometimes I see others possibilties also. The paths we did not take,...

I have always loved the definition:
A set of infinite discrete units has an infinite number of subsets each containing an infinite number of units, recursively.

Time to take down the doggerel. I am in a bit of a mood.

There is actually a picture of Sadaam Hussein exiting a myotatic reflex in Bush the Younger while 'leeza Rice gets it in the ass from the Iraqi information minister who is sucking Dick Cheney's chalupa while the Taco Bell Chihuahua takes a squeege on a Persian carpet which is gobbled moments...

Yo Nedhead - I was just creeping down the 'what changed everything...' thread and saw your post. I was just listening to Minimal Man today! You must have grown up in the Bay area and gone to the Mab or someplace to see that show. I saw Flipper in Denver in '84 I think.
Here's to your frozen neighbor from us down the canyon!
