It's *usually* better to regret something you did than something you didn't do (as long as the something-you-do doesn't hurt someone), because then at least you *know*. If you don't do something out of fear it's the wrong thing, you'll always be asking yourself, "What if I had . . ."

But it really depends on *what* you're talking about doing or not-doing.
